194 Italian language tapes

Can anyone recommend a tried and tested italian language course available on tape or CD. I am intermediate level and would be looking for conversation rather than basic grammar instruction etc.

I need practice listening and understanding but know all the basic grammar up to conditional.

Thanks

there is something call aquaitalia or the like that has news programmes etc and exercise that you can listen to - I bought a package a coupe of years ago but they were a bit to advanced for me

PM me and i will burn a copy for you and mail you the details about where to sign up for the package if they are what you are looking for.

Acquerello Italia does the news programmes and stuff - very good if you have a basic grasp of Italian, but if you are a total beginner try the Michel Thomas tapes first.

We found the Michel Thomas tapes to be of great help (the locals may disagree, however!)

If you need help finding these, send me a personal message.

The Italy Magazine shop stocks the Michel Thomas tapes :) - as well as many other alternatives- just click here to see the relevant item and order or simply browse our catalog.

all the best,

My wife speaks Italian much better than I and whereas I put it down to intelligence and a musical ear she claims it was the Linguaphone borrowed from the Barbican library coupled with determination and dedication. Nowadays Tuscans ask Emma if she is from the Veneto whereas the only people to have mistaken me for an Italian were two plain-clothed Guardia Finanzia but that is another story.

There are some Michel Thomas Revision Sheets to accompany the 8 CD course, available here, courtesy of Bournemouth University. :D

wow - Ric - thats really cool - and tks to the University!

The story of Michel Thomas is quite interessante too!
