365 Hotels in Venice

Can anyone recommend a really nice hotel in Venice, please? A friend of mine wishes to take her partner to Venice, and is looking for somewhere "romantic (fairly) exclusive, but not outrageously expensive"! if such a beast exists in that most wonderful of cities. I have been fortunate enough to visit a couple of times myself, but have never actually stayed there, although it is my most favourite city in the world.

My friend wishes to take her partner there to celebrate his birthday in August.

All help greatfully received!
Roy.

Hi

I would definitely recommend the Palazzo Sant’Angelo which is on the Grand Canal itself (though the quiet back end of it). My mother and I stayed there in February. There weren’t many guests in the hotel when we stayed, though Venice in general was beautifully quiet (it pays to go out of season). We had an attic room which was spacious. All the baths have Jacuzzi jets. Great location, 10 mins walk to St Marks Square.

I believe their phone number is 00 39-041-2411452 but we booked through Octopus. Hotel's website is WWW.PALAZZOSANTANGELO.COM

Hope I’ve helped.

Hi Roy,

My sister stayed at the Luna Baglioni near Harry's Bar a couple of years ago and said it was really lovely.
We went last year and stayed at the Hotel American in the Dorsoduro area near the Accademia. It just does bed and breakfast but the rooms are nice and I think they do superior ones with canal views. It's in a handy spot between the Accademia and the Zattere.

Hope this helps
