368 Puglia region – Recommend Estate Agent?

Hello. I’m planning a trip to Puglia during June/July. I’m looking to buy a trulli and am interested in areas South of Bari and North of Brindisi. At the moment I have no preference to being near the coast or inland. I would probably be looking at more rural areas rather than towns such as Alberobello, because the prices will hopefully be a bit less! :confused:

Can anyone recommend a trustworthy estate agent they have used, because I have heard of agents marking up properties as much as 60% (I presume they only do this to foreign buyers).

Apulia properties were reliable and friendly.....many of their properties are through Sansonetti in Fasano, been there years, his father before him for 40 yrs, very responsible person. Find them online. Found some of the long established Italian agents in the towns the most reliable and least likely to mess you about :p

I liked your article, realy nice to see someone helping others. I wish I had found this site 18 months ago. We have had no problems with our Builder & the cost have been a fraction of what you article said. I think those cost's were based on area's such as Alberobello, Martina Franka, Cisternino & Locorotondo. The cost are a lot lower in the Brindisi periferia (rural area's).
We had 3 cones restored for €2,000 including stone.

We were in Ostuni in March and met a guy who had been quoted by his estate agent for the renovation of a trulli he was interested in at 25,000 euro. Upon completion and purchase got a builder in and the renevation cost shop up to 57,000 euro. Beware and get quotes before making an offer and paying the deposit.

just for information,i have been looking at trulli in the itria valley and two local agents have told me that to rebuild an average size cone is about 6000 euros
