Thanks for the message Neil. I'll certainly have a look as I would like my childrent to carry on with their hobbies.
As for the vino, it gets the better of me most nights.
Cheers!

Me too Neal........By the way our house is just around the corner from yours if you want to meet up sometime. We're on the SP28 just near the crossroads with the Ceglie-San Vito road ( I think it's the SP31 but I've just had a couple of big bottles of Becks so maybe got the numbers mixed up LOL!!)
Don't know when we'll be out there again but hopefully sooner rather than later.

That would be great. The villa we are buying is just of the Caravigno to San Vitto road, near the Hotel Carbrun. I'm booking flights tonight for the end of June, beginning of July and can't wait.
When you bought did you need any work done, if so, any recommendations and what about furniture, any recommendations there also?
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
No recommendations so far as the work still needs to be done and we haven't yet bought any real items of furniture except for a washing machine (which trips our hopelessly inadequate circuit breaker) a fridge which is decent enough, a cooker which is pretty crap, and a set of bunk beds for the kids....all of it came from that supreme institution of dodgy quality Emmezeta. So far we haven't found anywhere else which can supply good quality stuff at non astronomical prices and are seriously thinking about importing a lot of stuff from the UK.
Lucky you to be going over again soon......I wish we were but we're skint at the moment.

Our place is half finished but not a problem, builder by trade anyway but will have to find an electrician and a plumber. The rest I can do myself with a couple of mates.
We have the same idea as you re: furniture etc. We have a mate with a light haulage business and considerting taking everything from a flat pack kitchen and a full bathroom suite, to bedding etc.
How many kids and how old??
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Boy and a girl aged 3 and 6 respectively.
Strangely enough I'm an electrician but don't know if I would want to tackle anything out there as it's all done so differently to the way we do it here. Probably best to find someone local I think

We've James who's 9, Millie 7, Lottie 2 and Dom 1. We must get a telly.
Know what you mean about the electrics. Obviously being in the trade I could take a full gang of trades with me but like you say things are done completely diferently so best to get that done over there.
Where are you in the UK. Be very spooky if your in Manchester area.
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
No, we're in Sunderland which means a pain in the neck of a journey to get there....an hour to Stansted via easyjet then a 6 hour wait there for the Brindisi flight. On the way back it's Bari to Stansted then a 4 hour wait for the flight back up to Newcastle. Well worth it though.
Would I be right in assuming that you would like to know if there is somewhere in or near to San Vito dei Normanni where your children can continue with their hobbies? I think the vino got the better of you this evening!
Take a look at the website with the longest domain name in the world: www.comunedisanvitodeinormanni.com and you might find something, or at least someone you can call and ask in the local area. Brindisi would certainly have ballet and karate for kids, but the 30 mile round trip would be a killer.
Good luck.
