does anybody know where i can get an OS style map of the campania area ie like the landranger style
There are good maps available from Touring Club Italiano which are 1:200,000. You can buy them from most branches of Waterstones. I think Waterstones also stock the IGC (Istituto Geografico Centrale) 1:50,000 maps. If they don't, Stanfords http://www.stanfords.co.uk/ stock them at about £8 each. If you can get their foul website to work that is. It seems to have been designed by a team of gibbons, on drugs .
Possibly a better place is http://www.mapsworldwide.com/ which has a boring website that takes some searching, but can get you to the maps you need.
Here's the TCI map of Campania http://www.mapsworldwide.com/maps_1560.htm
Perhaps the best are the IGM (Istituto Geografico Militare) which are closest to OS maps. You can find a catalogue here: http://www.maps-store.it/igm/serie-50/catalogo.asp but I have no idea if you can buy them in the UK. The store will post to the UK, I think. You'd have to buy 20 maps to cover all of Campania.

See what you mean about Stanfords site, LOL, not terribly secure either. It works best from the site map rather than the buttons... ;)
