Am a personal fan of the Museo delle Genti d'Abruzzo in Pescara. Interesting exhibits on life in the Abruzzo region in the 1800 and early 1900's.

I have just jioned your forum and read Julse message.I to have bought near Penne and I think I met them in Loreto in the superb agents office.I had been looking to buy abroad for 4 years.Shown mainly rubbish, they dont listen to what you want ,just try to sell you what they have got.Until I met NUNZIO who showed me 4 properties in one afternoon, any of which I would have purchased.I acquired over 3 acres of olive grove and he is also going to oversee the building of my casa.

Just returned from signing for our house in Abruzzo. Had a fantastic few days, as people before have said you can sunbathe on beautiful beaches or head off to the mountains.
We have found the whole buying process painless, mostly due to www.housesforsaleabruzzo.co.uk Stella was absolutely fantastic, talk about going the extra mile.
This visit we stayed at an Agritorismo (can't spell that) called La Solagna near to Penne, which was really good, the food was of good quality and to say plentiful would be an understatement. Room a little on the small side but the food the views and the patron more than made up for that.
We will be there in October so e-mail me, we may be able to meet up if you want to.
Good Luck
Eileen.
We had our first house hunting trip to Abruzzo at the beginning of June. Stayed for a few days in Silvi Marina, sizeable town with a nice beach a few kilometres long. We also stayed for a week in a self catering converted farmhouse about 3 kilometre outside San Silverstro (nice but very quiet). We did go to Penne but can't remember anything about it, we saw about 25 properties in 7 days, our heads were spinning. We hopefully have bought a property just south of Tollo going to sign the compromesso next week. The thing I liked about Abruzzo is that you can be swimming in the sea one minute and in about an hour you can be playing snowballs. We did, it snowed on the mountains in June.
Happy hunting
