Sadly no...
Your best bet there is encourage a drinking and/or smoking habit in the mother-in-law or foster a liking for long walks on clifftops in the evening...

As a huge fan of open windows and doors, we where plagued with all sorts of nasty things. We named a thing with about 20 legs and two big attena's on the back of it body and two on the front, 'brushes' anyone know what they are called.
Well hubby went shopping and brought one of those bead curtains for the side door, which works great. I can leave the door open all day sometimes until midnight guess what no creepies
As I like to sleep with all the window's open, hubby brought some of the charcoal coloured alumimun fine mesh and some wood and made great screen's, and you cant even notice when you look out the window. We made 20 screens for about 200 Euros. It bliss sleeing with a nice cool breeze blowing in. Now, no creepies, scorpions, brushes. I think this works better than powders, that look messy. I sat down one day by log store and was covered in white powder.
If the chalk or liquids work great, but I would invest in some of the bead curtains, one problem though it looks like the doorway to an indian restaurant, !!!!anyone for curry
I have not heard of this but if you have street vendors in larger cities near you look for little boxes of 'Chinese chalk'. This stuff works well - you draw a line around windows and doors and bugs that walk over it die pretty quickly. It works for a good while after application as well and is not harmful to humans or (non insect) pets.
