Shirls welcome ;) I was in Italy in April, Venice was one of the places that we stayed. I will never forget getting off the train after being up for 24 flying from California, anyway oh my gosh walking out of the train station and standing on those steps and there is the Grand Canal - wow, wow, wow that was an awesome sight - I also had the same reactions all of the places we went in Italy - It is an awesome, beautiful, spectacular, wonderful country!!!!
Francesca is so correct we are a friendly bunch :p
Welcome again -

Thank you for your welcome!! This is all new to me! I managed to catch the series first time round and it was great to learn more about Venice and to think "I've been there!!!!!"

Hi and welcome to the site. Like you I love all things Italian.
Although I do not live yet in Italy, I have recently travelled to Venice and went on a day trip to Verona and Lake Garda. All lovely places, but my main love is Venice itself, still so very magical.
I hope that you have managed to watch the series on T.V. Thursday evening at 7.00p.m. on BBC2. It is narrated by Francesca de Mosta, and is entitled "Venice". Last night it was mainly about Casanova!!
I hope that you enjoy the site, we are all a very friendly bunch. :p
Ciao.
Frances
