NO,
but welcome to the board anyway
:)

Hi Vicky,
I do not yet live in Italy, but went to Verona back in May on a day trip which included a visit to Lake Garda. Of course I liked both places, Lake Garda in particular, but did not have enough time to look around Verona properly. :( They were in the process of putting up the sound system etc. for the Summer Opera season at the ampitheatre ( sorry if I have spelt this wrong! )
You say that you have lived there for 8 years. I am intrigued to know if it may be cheaper to rent property out there, long term, say for a year, than to buy? I am asking this as we are in the process of putting out feelers for a place to rent long term, before we make the final move to Italy. We eventually want to retire to this area of Northern Italy.
Many thanks for any info. you can give me, and a warm welcome to this site. :)
Ciao
Frances

There IS someone in Verona. Use the search facility. I remember the posting by 'SallyinVerona'. She's studying music there.

Hi Vicky,

I am living in Verona, have been here six months now. I live with my boyfriend who is half Italian. We live in Arbizzano which is 10 minutes from the centre. This is a great site and its nice to know there is someone in Verona as everyone else seems to be further south.

Ciao for now.

Val

Hi Francesca,

Sorry, should have replied in my message to Vicky but anyway, we have just rented a flat near Verona on the way to the lake, its cheaper than Bournemouth where we are from. Approx £110 a week for a 2 bedroom flat in a nice area, with garage, balcony etc. Bills are cheaper in general except for the electric and phone. The more out you go obviously the cheaper it gets, people hear like to be near town if they work as the traffic is pretty awful. We had a job finding a flat at first as we didn't have a job and therefore no references so we just offered some money up front for the rent. Its a great place, great restaurants etc. Hope you manage to get hear.

Hi Val,
thanks for the reply to my query on renting long-term. So many sites just seem to rent short-term and just in the holiday season :o
I will make a note of the price, as that does sound quite reasonable for that sort of property. A two-bedroomed place with a small garden, would be ideal for us, so we can still grow a few veggies etc. like we do home here at the moment. Have just harvested our tomatoes, runner-beans, courgettes, potatoes and carrots!! :D Anyway, I am digressing here!
Grazie
Ciao Frances
