Hi Daniela
Welcome to the forum.
Don't think the Harley will be much use on the twisties of Marche tho ;)
From what I've seen a BMW or KTM is more the order of the day.
You can't beat Italian tho.
Dave :D

Hi Francesca... We're hoping to settle somewhere between Ascoli Piceno and Macerata, but haven't seen any properties we like yet. We're coming to Le Marche on Saturday, and staying until Wednesday next week, so hopefully we'll find something suitable this time.
Yes.. I am a fan and an owner. I've got a Heritage Softail which I'm desperatly trying to sell before 1st December. We need all the pennies we can get for this exciting move...
Thanks for your encouragement.
Daniela

Sounds very exciting! Would you not miss having the bike in Italy? Was just thinking you would be well set for offering biking tours of your part of Italy (I recall lots of Brits going to SA at one time for biking tours, so there is probably a good market for this).

Hi Sano, it's been a difficult decision to make whether to sell my bike or not, pathetic I know. My heart tells me not to sell it; my head says I should sell it. Oh, I don't know... then you come along and say this to me! Thanks very much mate. (Big LOL) :D

Hi Daniela, you have a great bike, but u got to do whats best for you, how ever i think harleys would be great out there, my husband cannot wait to get his vrod out there, and i cant wait too, we have often said this place is perfect for the bike, so if you do decide to keep it, you go girl, and have fun on your harley, regards Francesca :D

Thanks Francesca. Well, if it's not sold by 1st December, then I'll put it in storage and think about it again at a later date. Anyway, it's the wrong time of year to sell a bike. Do you ride ? I love the VRods - fab bikes.

Daniela, I love being on the back of the bike with my hubby, He said i should do the bike test so i can ride it, dont think i could handle all the tests now that u need to do, but i admire the girls that have done it and now ride and own bikes, think girl riders look so cool anyway  Francesca

Actually, good question. I was thinking about this the other day. Wherever I end up buying, I thought it might be nice to have a little scooter to zip around in (or maybe I'm just sadly trying to re-live my youth!). I've a feeling, though, it might all come back to the question of being able to buy the thing and register it if you're not a resident. :(

Is that not just in UK and for a max of 2 years?
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Hi Derekl, it seems you need a CBT to ride a bike 125cc and over, a scooter 50cc u can ride without a CBT as long as u have prov licence, :)

Oooooww can I have a minty green or beige one...yipee.
Maybe I rob one if the itali's wont let me have one (only kidding)

Derekl, seems Italy CBT does not apply, have been trying on the internet to find out about that, going to do some more research on that, and will keep you posted, we need to be sure, but seems where i have looked no mention of CBT, only licence, even on the scooter touring companys. Francesca
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Are you sure, due to ECC rules even in Greece to hire a clapped out mini-bike you can get one, but you need a full-driving license.
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Elainecraig, you have got to get the pics put on forum website, on your scooter wearing your fab sunshades, when you are in puglia, we would all like to see you, what great fun, you sound a real fun lady....... :D

Ok thanks Francesca. Shows you how long it's been since I owned a bike (KE 125 - mid 80s  ).
Even with a little 50cc scooter, I guess I'd still have a problem buying and registering one if I wasn't a resident. :(
