If I can give one tip you will NEVER be overdressed in Italy! In the countryside it's a mix really - you can wear jeans to the office and a tracksuit for popping into town but equally you see people wearing suits, killer heels and the full make-up/hair just teetering around the local supermarket. We tend to think of suits as work clothes but here a lot of women wear them as everyday clothing, including going out in the evening.
So I would say don't throw out the suits just yet - whenever you get the odd pang for your old lifestyle you can always put on your suit and pop down to your local Despar :D

I agree with the comment about never being overdressed in Italy - keep all the suits & the dressy stuff. Also, make sure you`ve got easy access to all your warm winter woolies. It gets very chilly in winter, especially after Christmas. January & February can be colder than in the UK & you may not be able to heat your house to the same temperature as in the UK. At least the winter is shorter here. Good luck with the move & I wish you well in your new life in Italy. :)
winter is coming !!!

Totally agree with above comments !! I left nearly all my winter stuff in Uk at my sons' house for him to bring over at Christmas ...do I regret that !...yes...it is getting really chilly early morning and late afternoon and evenings!!!! :D ....and yes ...suits are 'in' !!!!...even saw a lady wearing one riding her bike the other day :)
.........either way, Oxfam will love you
