1829 Italian Wines made from Pinot Noir Grapes

Are there any Italian wines produced from Pinot Noir grapes?

I read on another forum that wines made from this cultivar in particular contains some good...well, chemicals for want of a better word, that helps fight the onset of Alzheimers, amongst other illnesses.

Hi Sano,

I have a few bottles of Pinot Bianco from the hills of Friuli. The wine comes from the La Tunella Estate.

Here's the website:

Hope this helps.

That's great! Thanks for the link.

Given that I am so forgetful already, I figure anything that helps stave off the inevitable is good.

Hi,

If you want loads of links, google "pinot nero" and you may no longer know what to choose! I used google.it with 'pagine provenienti da: Italia' chosen to limit the hits.

I like a lot Trentino products and found a really nice tasting Pinot Grigio from www.mezzacorona.it though haven't tasted their Neros

Thanks Paul. I LOVE Pinot Grigio! Haven't got a particular favourite yet, so I'll have to keep trying! :)

Not sure about Navan but there is an excellent bottlestore in Ashbourne, in the newly developed 'town centre' opposite the Tesco. They have an impressive variety of wines, and a good selection of Italian wines (far far better than what we have in Blanch).

I think it was this http://www.mezzacorona.it/prodotti/schede/mez_pinot_gr_mill.htm Trentino Doc Pinot Grigio Riserva which I found jus by accident in a small Italian (german owner!) restaurant in Helsinki. Alcohol sales is controlled by state owned monopoly but restaurants can import directly for their own use and this guy has found this wine somewhere.

Sano

Did you find any satisfactory Pinot Nero info?

Is that the small store "Nights In"? Or is there another one? I often stop there for a bottle on my way home on a Friday night!
Strangely, there are 2 very good, very well-stocked places to buy wine in Navan. One of them, 'Ryan's' has a very impressive choice and a wine club.
