Elaine has now posted the same picture, but you'll note just under HER name. As a penalty, she will be paying the mortgage on her own for the next 3 months.
Thats the twin house

This is a great idea! Wish my husband and I had ours bought already. We are more anxious than ever now after seeing these beautiful places to sell ours in California and pack up and move.
Thanks!
Just don't move to Abruzzo.. Something about the lack of toilet facilities.
I'm confused [as always - its my advanced years]
I thought it was Puglia that didn't have the toilets
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Lots of toilets, lots of sun and lots of women in black dresses ;)
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
There certainly are toilets in Puglia. I would'nt go there if there weren't. First thing I do is check out the toilet situation within a region. Most of Italy passes with flying colors.
Help ....

Yes, the San Vito dei Normanni balloon has a thick border as there are several of us there.
Not a very satisfactory outcome. If anyone knows of a better free map we should change over to something better........
Also............
........maybe I'm being too sensitive here, but I'm a little bit annoyed that some people see this as a way of free advertising. This is meant to be a friendly way of forumers showing others where their Italian properties are.
I've already deleted a 'photo' by Lifeinitaly.it - which wasn't a photo, but an advertising banner.
I'm also tempted to delete the entry by "The cincinnato" which is nothing more than an advert as well - but I'll wait for the opinion of others before doing so.
There is a time and place for advertising your business and trying to make money, and I don't feel the map is appropriate.
Anyway.........
........I'm counting down the days until I go back to Italy. Dec 9th. Both me and Rachel are taking our Mums to show them our investment  Well, the flights are only £25 return including taxes, so it had to be done :D

Ric, I vote to remove the advertising from the map. There are areas on the forum I think would be more appropriate.

Moving Your Balloon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Fri, 11/18/2005 - 08:28In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
I found this out by error - but it works pretty well.
WARNING - This is from my failing memory - so its about right - but may be a bit wrong - so experiment!
1. Click on 'remove me' under your entry
2. When it goes to the relevant page [your entry/photo etc.] - click on 'modify location' [or some name like that]
You don't need to change the name of the big town you've already put in, BUT---
3. look at the small map with your balloon on. and you can move the balloon by clicking on the map where you want it to relocate to - so click the spot on the map
4. Refine this new location by zooming right in on 'satellite' setting and re-clicking at the right spot.
5. when satisfied - click the 'save location' button and HOPE. There may be another button as well to press - have a look around [I think there was a second one that needed pressing]
I ended up totally deleting my original entry and starting from scratch with a new one - but at least my place is in the right location now.
------------------------------------
BY THE WAY
Its lonely up North! - but then I suppose that's why I chose where I did - to get a place where Italians lived.

Sorry if me having a link to an external site in my signature upset you. Hardly the same thing, but I've removed it just to please you.

Any ideas about how to get a location recognised. I have already entered latitude and longitude of Perinaldo but nothing seems to be happening. The system won't even allow me to put in nearby towns even though they appear. Is there a special trick I need or a rescuer?

Perinaldo is not on there, but San Remo is. You should be able to add yourself with that location, then use alan haynes' trick on page 4 (click here), to move your balloon slightly to the position of Perinaldo. :D
Just what we were looking for, love the photo's everybody :D
