Hi all,
I will be taking a van with furniture from Zeebrugge to Genoa and then to sardinia, between Christmas and new year. I am thinking of going due south through belgium switzerland and into Italy via the Gottard tunnel. Has anyone driven this route and can give any advice. Any reccomendations of where to stay on the way down?? PS will have an empty van on the way back. (Sorry, no illegals)
Thanks Rick
We tend to go via Grenoble and Frejus these days. Its a much more peaceful route. However that's in August. No idea what it would be like at this time of year - could be snow chain time. There were nasty scenes on the Savona Turin section of the motorway during the recent heavy snow. People were left abandoned in their cars overnight in the snow. However, the weather seems more temperate at the moment.
