my understanding of the situation is that if you only have property/assets in italy they need to be covered by an italian will. if you have assets in both Uk and Italy i am led to believe that for security you should have an english will covering assets there and an italian will for assets here. i do know of cases where an english will has sufficed for both. the italian will system is very much simpler than the uk model,it seems to consist of a hand written document which must be in italian stating your wishes and signed without the presence of a witness. charlotte
