Hi Kim and David,
thanks for the prompt reply. We definately would like to use local craftsmen and for the rest of our furniture and probably will, but I need to get some beds in there for us to sleep upon during our stay in mid Jan. Because my wife isn't accompanying me on that occasion and she obviously wants a say in the type of beds we buy, t'internet was the obvious choice.
Ikea was great, the iron beds are decent quality and inoffencive (I'm selling it well, aren't I?). In France they offer an online mail order service, not so Italy (or the UK for that matter), so I was hoping there might be some company who does offer this type of service. You never know, there might even be a small company who is forward-thinking enough to be doing it. There again, I may be just dreaming.
If anyone does have any info on local (Puglian) craftsmen or online stores, it'd be much appreciated.

that fits the bill perfectly.
That said, if anyone knows of any local furniture makers (carpenters etc), I really do want to support the "little guy", we've got to stick together.
But for ease of purchase, this is fab. At least we'll have a bed to sleep on : )

.........not a clue about the area, but we're found as a general rule that if you buy locally, the guy's more than happy to delivery fre of charge. One fella we bought from, got is son to whack it in the back of the van, there & then & follow us home!
Forget the big stores, try local ones ;)
