.... if you ever get beyond the tanto bit the rest is very clever... even the tanto bit is clever marketing as it allowed the album to sell well...
italian popular music is a sort of pet hate of mine... its difficult to hear anything here outside the popular music establishment.... had to put up with things like pooh in the last weeks or so celebrating dynasaur status.... and being on every program for a month ...
baglioni... also was celebrating something .... and i can put up with him...in fact sometimes even lisen to his cds...
trouble is its hard to describe italian music as varied when their claim to fame is the san remo festival and that event where they repeat the same songs twice a night for a week from the sort of european song contest type of stars.... is the problem ... the RAI has too too much power here and for new people and new music its hard... i waffle....
ariena ... hope you get better soon ... and that the new year will not see the continuation of the lost members saga.... i had to blow cobwebs and dust off my computer when that started again....... that you find your dream house here in italy ....
as always much interested to view your take on life here
dream optional................
Agree about the tanto.. still buzzing around my head like a ruddy zanzara ever since you mentioned it.. managgia! Are you sure you are not mistaken? I always thought Italian popular music was ENGLISH!!
Claudio Baglioni.. hmm.. don't you mean "imbroglione"? He rips off rifs 'cus he's walking on the moon and praising Gabriel on Salisbury Hill.. but hey.. chi c'e' in ascolto? ;)
Don't get me started on San Remo.. a political showcase as to who performs. Trust me on that one! If you get really bored you can always listen to Mina sing "how much is that old doggy in the window". By the way.. have you actually ever heard "Il mare adriatico"? Tu devi provare di trovare questa canzone!!
As to if I will ever get better..I'm not sure I want to, but I'm sure the saga will be repeated again and again and again and.. uff!
Then of course.. there's always the dream house.. ah yeah.. the dream.. but I got to thinking.. like you do sometimes.. and I started wondering if I really wanna buy the diamond encrusted palazzo hanging offa da cliff..
I guess time will tell.. for a few reasons.. Does it exist? Will I be daft enough to believe it does? Even if I am.. I wonder how many fabulous visits/trips/holidays/vacations/long weekends/flying visits could I actually have for euro 000.000,00 I would spend on buying - without the headache of dealing with Signore Immobiliare, 'restructuring', maintenance, security, insurance and then only being able to realistically get to Italy 4 or 5 times a year for a few days and.. if I'm lucky.. a coupla weeks in August, when it's so ruddy hot that the Italians leave.. and even I hate the place.
You waffle all you like.. I'll digress, take this thread off topic and let it develop.. just to annoy any snipers hiding in the long grass! In vino veritas.. I'm off to lie down in a darkened room and nibble on a few scugnizzi.. saluti!
:) :)
if its hanging of the cliff it'll be 000.000,00 for sure, but then you'd be able to eat sfoglietelle every day...it's always better than getting into a fight down the Philarmonic,no more cold wind off the Irish sea,no more staggerin home down parliament street after the pub closes, even il signore immobiliare might start becoming simpatico, you might become his amica ,anyway listening toClaudio Baglione ,(ricc++++e) is not yet obligatory here it only seems that way....anywaythe diamond crust palace you could always sell on to the dream timers and escape before capital gains.....(idea)or pretend to sell it...
anyway don't be angry, just had visit by government agency and was(am) pissed off.....

when i was one of those people working and living in england there was a slight temptation to invest in one of these holiday home type places... not very much.... a little .... a place of our own to drag off to every summer...every christmas and desperately rush to evrey free long weekend....why well i had paid all that money.... had bills coming in all year for it ...so we had to make full use of it.... lucky i resisted.... i would have had to live for a hundred years and spent half the year on holiday to actually arrive at the cost of maintaining a holiday home here... and suppose you change your mind about where you buy... or your children hate you for dragging them off every five minutes instead of disney land to some small house where you have all to sleep together instead ... or prodi becomes leader of italy in april and confiscates all foreign owned property to give back to the poor italians.... or the sacre corona unita suddenly needs to build a new church next door
but after all that the main reson is ....i have had holidays everywhere in europe... in hotels when i wanted... houses with pools...cottages in mountains ... apartments by the sea.... and everywhere i have met locals and had local food and in some cases even gone back again... but the choice has been there...... and property ownership unless your very very rich...will always limit the choice
the pool like napoli....
It's an easy roll home to Upper Parliament Street.. turn left at the Nigerian Social Club.. pass the rubbish bins and Diamond Lil's Late Night Extra and we are on the corner. No bell.. so kick the cat until it screams and I'll open the door. Great area.. full of culture.. reminds me of Naples!
Regarding Sig. Immobilare.. I dont wanna be his amica 'cus he will probably start telling me how it's obligatory to listen to old dogs sing new tunes.
I'm curious as to why you had a visit from a Government Agency and what they did that pissed you off. If you need help.. mia zio.. Signore Cammora can probably sort it out.. ;)
:) :)
so its the nigerian social club, didn't it use to be the somali club????or am i outta date again.. past the bin liners ...kick the cat ...no bell..not relatives are we?..or you're in a house i used to go to!!!.yeah you're right you'd have to listen to that san remo stuff all the time it'd lead to certain divorce.Yes i'll take tuo zio.Don't want to lavare i panni qui dentro..i'll just say if you look for the hair in the egg (thats right the old pelo nell'uovo) sooner or later you'll find one and the "agencies" here are like that so even though they didn't "verificare elementi sanzionabili" they proceeded to do just that but you just get used to that sort of thing.
John is RIGHT ,as usual. You could have 000.000,00 of holidays in fantastic places in Ravello,Amalfi, stay with my friends in Giugliano or if you prefer up market in Vomero for less than the price of the holiday home without becoming the partner of Signore Immobiliare.....not worth staying in the pool any more they keep pulling it down to build shopping malls and the like ..might as well just get out here.
....but it is a little freaky that you are watching to see what threads Im looking at and then posting to me straight away. It actually made me feel sick.

I think this strengthens Aliena's argument for a chat room - she obviously wants to reply instantly to people's postings (chatroom) whereas you would prefer a comfortable time to pass before seeing a reply to your postings. I am sure a chatroom would take a lot of trivial stuff off the forum and allow someone with a diffiicult issue to "chat" it through with one or more of our panel of experts. If they were kind and thoughtful to other users they could summarise the conclusions of their seminar in a new thread to save it for posterity.

Touch of disparity in your camp there. You wanna play, hubby wants us to go! ;) My hubby thinks I'm mad going on here all the time!

I know you are a nurse, so am I, we and brendan discussed nurses pay, being on nights would bump it up too. I couldn't go back to nights, it nearly killed me when my kids were young. I'm a specialist nurse in outpatients so not so bad but then pay difference reflects that.
You must have mistaken us,we didn't meet at the law party, couldn't make it which was a shame we wanted to go. Wonder who you met?
In a nutshell ! .I hardly ever post on this forum...just take the odd look at stuff.
So like you suggest a chat room would allow people like ALAN!!! (ALIENA ) to enjoy a bit of fun and bitching without offending anyone who is just interested in Italian stuff.
Have to admit though I did get a bit adicted to reading all the bitching! My imagination ran wild with me....last night I had nightmares about a vision of a big fat elderly bald chap in stilhettos at my door saying "hi Im aliena "
Anyway ,like Pete Burns says" if you can't stand the heat dont even go in the kitchen"
Im in the conservatory now for sure !
Conservatory?
