Sebastiano
Thanks for your reply.
I have just done a websearch and found (I think) that our nearest branch is in Ortezzano.
Grazie

Have you tried BANCA DELLE MARCHE?

agree with sebastiano... about coop banks that is...we have four bank accounts here.... cannot afford to close them....
will try to find out where the website is but a recent survey showed average yearly running costs here for banks at around e400 euro for an italian family....worst rates in the south at close to e600....
banca posta offers a guranteed rate at i think around e37 per year...but then it is not recognised as a bank by everyone ...which sometimes makes it difficult to pay some of the utility bills... or other real banks will not transfer to it...
our coop bank here offers the quickest, friendliest and cheapest service out of mainstream banking ... and if you become a member even a christmas present...
anyway get it right first time.... otherwise you get big bills for changing...
recent scandals here include the customer friendly service of skimming charges and adding to them as well to provide friendlydirectors of banks with large deposits in the caymen isles or fur coats and apartments for others.... any loss is easy to recoup....they just add a few more lines to yoyur incomprehensible statement saying you have been charged another few euro for this or that... which is most probably why on the stock exchange here ...even when banks are facing crippling scandals their share price still holds...or even increases...
follow the local reccomendation.....

Hi, We use the BCC -Picena too. Our branch is in Belmonte Piceno. We have had a great deal of help there. Recently we needed to pay a water bill. I telephoned the bank from our home in england and managed to discuss the matter with someone straight away. I am afraid that this conversation was in english as my italian is not too good. We were then e-mailed to confirm that the bill had been paid. We have been very impressed - so far - we have been with the bank for two years. As the house is still languishing we haven't had to use them too much but they have been very obliging. Hope this helps. Rosebee.

Thanks for the link Dave!
I notice one in Offida too. I guess Fermo and Altidona are the only two coastal
towns with branches.
We'll be spending a couple of months renting near Cossignano while we look at homes.
Looking forward to meeting some of you when we are there!

Can any residents of the area give me any info about banks in the south of the region (AP)?
Our agent has suggested Carisap does anyone have any experience of them?
Thanks
Dave & Dawn[/QUOTE]
I can say without any doubt the worst bank i've ever had anything to do with was the CARISAP.
i cannot recomend either BNL nor Banca popolare di Ancona.
I can say that the best bank i've had to date is the B.C.C.- PICENA, This is a cooperative credit bank ( is not allowed to accrue profits etc etc) the only but is that you have to live in their established juristician of an agency,in other words you 'll have to find the one thats nearest to your house. They are all over the region if you tell me where you are i'll find out the nearest for you, there is one in Comunanza. They have home banking services too,all cards, and in my bank i believe there are people who speak english too.
