Hi Andy
We live outside Torino and we get freeview BBC (1,2,3,4, CBBC ). We have a dish (about 1mtr) and a digibox that we purchased at the local Carrefour. Brought it home and pointed it to Astra 28.2 S - that was it !
Hopefully you can do the same ?

Karen,
Thanks for that. Can you just let me know how you would locate that satellite in the area. Is it just trial and error or is there something a bit more scientific. (Should know since I'm an electrical (consulting) engineer, but the last time I did any proper work and not design, we only had four channels and there were squariels appearing all over the place).

[QUOTE=andy s], I think I'm going to stand at the top of a step ladder waving the dish about until the person in the sitting room shouts that there was a picture about five minutes ago.
:o oh no - you've hit the nail on the head !!! Thats more or less what we did I'm afraid. Never mind - we got there in the end and I can now sit and watch Top Gear on a Sunday night rather than some busty blonde "Velina" prancing about .......

Is the license free?
Stoopida I know but I dont know
There have been a number of threads on this, so try searching under satellite or television.
I seem to recall that the answer is no, either way you need a large (about 1.2 metre dish), you can get Sky using your UK card if you call Sky & can also get an Italian version of Freeview if you buy a box "over there"
