Best of luck, Kym!!
You've waited long enough and now it's time to head off... don't forget essentials (especially lots of water and chocs and tissues for dogs), and enjoy the ride!!
Drive carefully but don't over-rely on Sat Nav! On long distance trips, I use small yellow stickies with the route & regional road numbers (not E numbers!) and stick them somewhere around the front. Remove bits with areas you've passed and you'll have reliable Sat Nav the old-fashioned way!! :D
Good luck and don't forget NOT to look back!!!
Take care,
Stephanie
european roads have two numbers ...national like the M1 say and european numbers.... which usually start with an E... but in general if you look on signs the more readable ones are the national numbers.... so forget the E ones basically...
dog friendly hotels in france are in general most of them providing your dog looks well behaved... we travelled down with dog etc.... and had no problems... but then we had disguised her...and she was wearing two piece suit and formal hat...just been to the hairdressers and she wasnt allowed to talk..... look helpless lost and feeble...and most will take pity on you...and you will get away with loads of things...
have a good journey down ... 20 km a week is much too fast ...take it slowly
