2314 Building Regulations for new stairs

For once I'm gonna post something serious....

Does anyone know what the regulation size of rise and tread needs to be for a new internal staircase?

I want to be able to draw a plan for any builders that I get quotes from, and know my facts before I start...

...I think that generally helps, if you know what I mean...

Hi Wishful Thinker

Regarding regulations for stairs, I have been out of the Carpentry business a few years (fitting Kitchens at the moment) but can tell you when I did make stairs in UK this was the formula.

For a private dwelling
Maxium Angle of pitch 42 degrees
Minium Going of Tread 220 mm
Maxium Riser 220mm

Any help?
