Hi Chris & Maria
Welcome to the forum. You have the added advantage of already having the language - perhaps you can give me lessons!!
I'm also new to this and intending to move to Puglia and do the same as you (rent out or b&b) to supplement my income, so I would also be interested in hearing from anyone who can give advice/info, dos and donts.
Good luck and hope to meet up - Gill:)

Thanks for the replies,
Unfortunately, only my wife speaks Italian fluently, (I'm of Polish descent),but I can muddle by!
I was very surprised to find so many people either in Puglia already or hoping to go there. I assumed everyone still wanted to live in Tuscany or Venice! They're both beautiful of course, but there is definitely something about the South and Puglia in particular that we liked. As for the tourism, I too think it will only increase, though it's a pity Ryanair seem to have stopped the morning flight into Bari. (Maybe this is just for the winter months?) Anyway, the best of luck to you in your businesses. If we ever double book a room, we'll know who to send our clients to now, and there is bound to be a time when we'll need a carpenter! We would be only to happy to speak to anyone you could recommend about property.
Thanks,bye for now.
C.M. and I.
Hi Chris and family
Just wish to welcome you. We're not in the same line of business, we too need a income, but just going through the throws of setting up our business so could maybe give you an idea how we've managed when we've come through it all.
B&B would be my choice of income although got to say there's already a few set up here. I think it's the future here though, tourism, with Ryan Air pushing the area. Brindisi airport is in expansion as we speak and Bari has just renovated and expanded, so someone's being doing the calculations.
Let us know how you get along. I've a few friends in the property market should you want to speak objectively about your plans to those in the know, in English or italian.
