have a pellet stove in Italy but how easy is it to get pellets in England never seen them on sale the pellet stove in Italy is great as we have no gas to the house - love it and my hot water bottle!!

When I'm out in a couple of weeks I'm going to ask our Geometra about Solar Panels and Pellet stoves and maybe try the commune in case they are the ones who administer grants?

I think that previous posts have hinted at a lack of funds in some regions and I suspect that with the news of the gas pipeline problems in Italy lots more people will be buying these types of heaters/boilers.However as a state of the art pellet boiler costs about £3,500 its still a bit more than most people would want to spend.

Has anyone any details of companies who can supply "pretty" wood burners or pelllet stoves in Lanciano/Pescara area as all the pellet stoves we have seen look like something out of the 1950's and my vision of curling up in front of a real fire are fading fast!!

we purchased a wood burner last year.There is a 40% fiscal relief over 8 years on these(just to be clear the wood burner cost Euro 1.500,00 incl. vat. withthe retailer we filled in theform for the ministry of finance and a copy for our commercialista who then deducts a certain amount from the tax return for the next 8 years)i don't know if the same is applicable for pellet burners.What is true there are no actual " grants but these kind of schemes unfortunately ,unless in some particular region ,there are no granrs for solar panels either.

We have been told that providing the efficiency of the 'fire', whatever material it burns, is over a certain % then you will be entitled to a 36% tax deduction. I can't remember the actual % but it seems to cover most 'fires', just check next time you visit a supplier, I think you have to ask for it rather than it be granted automatically.
