Thanks Aliena,
I will PM you. Can't wait to be singing in the kitchen, that should scare the kids and keep them out of my way!

Thanks Aliena
PM'd and waiting with baited breath

Lucio Battisti's E Penso a Te is lovely I go to the local college for an Italian evening class and our very nice teacher who is Italian plays us this song, I find it really easy to learn as it is very slow.

Dawn.

On my last visit I was listening to a CD playing in the local wine bar - don't remember the singer - but it was a comedy song with a chorus going something on the lines of 'Lucia, metti giu quell'fucile' - it certainly got me listening for the meaning, and shows how effective songs can be for learning and remembering language.

In many song traditions (including in England) singers in the oral tradition can't divorce the words from the tune when they remember a song they want to sing, which underlines how using different facets of the brain can help language learning. Think of some the songs you learnt at school - many of you are likely to remember quite a a lot of the words. I can remember plenty of song words but can still only manage 10 lines of one poem, 'Ozymandias'; which isn't much good for a sonnet!:-)
Thats still 10 lines more than I can do!:) :)
Ah, but can you remember any songs? :-)

Thankyou so much for the songs you sent the style was perfect, I will try really hard to learn them, my husband went to work and hummed them all day so keep up the good work and thank you again you are a true star or is that a Sirena!;)

Please email me a song - please - I dont know what I like - just try me with one!

Thanks in advance

Il Mio Canto Libero

I love it - such a beautiful song - not so keen on the second one - and I agree with you - the words are very easy to pick out - gonna need to go and get my dizionario

Thanks Aliena for such a great Idea

Or you could ask Finto in the Chat room if he knows where it has got to - he is all seeing and never sleeps
