Hi
Just to say that we have [I]finally [I]got snow in Piemonte we did the only thing you can do........built a great big snowman :)
The kids are happy - the cat's not and gran is sitting in her chair reminiscing about a big hot bowl of porridge !

Paola (LaToCa) - you'll be pleased to hear that the snow has arrived in Torino for the Olympics ? I think that everyone has let out a big sigh of relief ! Plus it makes everything look so much prettier too.
Ciao

Send us some down here Karen, have had to put sunglasses back on this morning....

I drove to Pila Friday night in order to ski with a friend today (Saturday) it was an epic journey with heavy snow all the way from Pisa to Pila - all manner of things happened but managed to make it up the mountain without "mounting" the dreaded chains...had to do it for the descent though..awful messy job.

Karen
you are right, I am soooo pleased about the snow! it was about time!!!!
Can't wait to see the mountains!!! I saw all the pics of Torino on www.lastampa.it... soooooo nice!

Paola

Glad to hear about the snow. My cousin from Pinerolo will be happy as he loves to ski. Do you know what the forecast for the area is? Is there more snow forecast? Maestrdon

Hi Maestrodon
Well today we have had the most beautiful sunshine and blue skies. The forecast is for a few more days of this. However the mountains are finally all white and looking as they should at last ! I'm sure the skiing must be great too. It turned to rain at the weekend - but apparantely that was only below about 600 metres - anything above that was still snow. (in other words - around the Pinerolese its all slush and mud and further up its lovely crystal white and sparkling :)

Hello from France
We are planning to ski in the Piemonte Limone; Anybody skied ther before?
We are worried about the fact that there is only one ski lift from Limone, and as we are going ther on the 17th of February which happens to be the Italian school vacation. Our Italian home is about one and a half hours by train so we will be going ther on a daily basis uless you have an idea of hotels there.
