2592 Rewiring and new windows

We have just had the following quotes
9340 euro for the replacement of 15 windows and one door, made from Chestnut, double galzed, with internal shutters, all 15 windows approx 4ft by 4.5ft
A complete rewire 7000 euro from mains box to 12 rooms, all celing fittings and 2/3 sockets to each room, outside lights, door bell, sat line, isdn line, all walls chased in, with a new type of twisted cable (looks old).

Any views?

so you're looking at more than 400-500 euro per window ,i worked out about 8.100,00 including vat at 20% as a market price to which you could add probablyabout 10% market /geographical / difficulty/ wood quality variation
so that could be about Euro 8.950,00 however you say alsowithinternal shutters + presumably handles hinges other bits so it's not far off at the end
i imagine that would include panels in alu/tin external to the window frame forprotection of the wood so it could in fact be right. If the electric estimate is from a registered electrician and includes under wall wiring and all the other bits the twisted cable is if i remember correctlyquite expensive what about yourswitch plaques some kinds are expensive i don't think thats far off either make sure you get the signed off certificate for the wiring job...

The windows include taking out the old ones, supply and fit new hindges, locks, fitting etc, internal shuttres so from the outside you will see the frames and the glass, the electrics includes all sockets light fixings and switches and the certificate

I would follow the advice in both replies, it's probably not far off, but get a couple of quotes anyway, but, query any that are wildly different.

i have been a carpenter and joiner all my life and i can confirm the window to be a good price and in hardwood its a bargain for sure
