2626 Turin Opening Ceremony

I hope you will get the chance to watch tonight's opening ceremony.
What about exchanging opinions after that?:)

General chat about Italy

Was in two minds which channel to watch - but at the moment am tuned in to BBC2 - although occasionally switching over to RAI2 for a peep ! BBC2 showed Donald Sutherland in the queue for tonights ceremony in Torino - and he mentioned he would be going to the Curling - that takes place in Pinerolo which is great for me. Might just have to pop along;)

Fantastic, what a show!!!

Just finished watching it on RAI Due. Highlights for me were the flag waving, the Ferrari and the two black caterpillars masquerading as Pavaraotti's eyebrows. Lowlights - Yoko Ono and Peter Gabriel - why???

Well, absolutely amazing. That's what being Italian is all about.:)

Thought the ceremony was spectacular and well done. Watched it live on Rai Due.

Totally agree. Why indeed? Anyway, the rest of the ceremony was fantastic. Very well done, very well organised.
High point - the little 9 year old girl singing the national anthem. Aaaah!:)

Saw it on Rai 2, and I was quite impressed! The 'people animation' of the skier was great. Shame about the ads though..

Yup thought so too. Was watching on Beeb 2 and liked it lots... :)

Shame though that Beeb coverage since then (well only 1 1/2 days but hey!) wasn't that great... Thank God for Eurosport!!!

Wow! Thanks for the photos Paola :)

Must be very exciting. We're enjoying the televised Olympics very much. In addition, lots of programs about the local specialties and historic sites with amazing architecture. A real Torino treat!

looks really great - have fun.

You should send the photographs to the BBC much better than what they have on their site.

Glad u enjoyed the pics.
I'll be adding new ones on first sunny day, it is really cold and grey and foggy today, not ideal for pictures!

Missed the first part of the opening ceremony - caught it from the 'parade of nations' bit onward and it was beautiful.
