Also did you know you cant take trolleys downstairs in Gran Casa - whats that all about! (Aliena - I dont mean literally - I mean if you have a 2 storey shop its usual to be able to use a lift to get to the other floor)

Ohhh, don't get me started on kettles.... i found an electric one in an electronics shop, the supermarkets sometimes have the whistling type for your stove, but you will meet many interesting people during your search, and you will enjoy it...

Our electric kettle has gone into retirement in the broom cupboard -mainly cos everytime I used it, it blew the house ! its was a Russel Hobbs 3kw - and as you probably know by now, the average italian house has.......3kw! So we use the type of kettle that my gran used to have - one that goes on top of the gas ring and boils merrily away. Must upgrade to a whistling one soon though ;)

ps: LIDL were selling an elec kettle this week - and it was only about 2kw - if you have a LIDL near you ?

A Moulinex Lyris seems well tempered in the 3Kw house. Try Trony or Unieuro. IKEA has inexpensive pleasant whistling kettles. Or you could have an Alessi!

Cassini - do you think I am rich - Alessi !!!

I have a very small kitchen - with no stove - I have a camping gas cooker - but cant find anywhere that sells Camping Gaz bottles locally -

Fortunately - I have a microwave - so that does for now -

I agree I was looking for a low powered kettle - and English travel ones seem the best option

For an oven - I am looking at Yachting and camper van LPG websites - and have found a few - so at least I can have a proper oven in my very small kitchen - but as for hob - my options again - are a yacht style hob - tho my friend in Italy - tells me Ikea do monobloc sinks/hobs - but I quite like my big sink - so I will probably go the yacht way

Of course I think you are rich you have a home in Italy. I imagine you noticed the explanation mark. I have a sense of humour - do you?
I am glad you know what you need to organise your kitchen - no furthr contributions needed from me then. It all sounds very inventive and sensible.

Alessi - are lovely tho - I will get there - give me time!

Glen, I don't know whether there is a Sma Auchan, CityPer store near you, but they've just been selling single electric hob, ring things, they were amazingly cheap too, 5euro on special offer I think...

Sorry George the answer is no on both counts - neither have a store in Toscana, Emilgia Romagna or Liguria! shux -

thanks for trying tho

Le Clerc if you have one near you sell camping gaz refills and kettles traditional or electric.

Oh well you will have to rely on your local ferramenta, they will always get things epecially for you if you ask!

Actually I might just go to Argos today and buy a travel kettle - its only 600W - maybe the best option.
