2678 Spaccanapoli

My brother who is visiting me at the moment [I]en famile [/I] has decided he wants to escape to Napoli for a couple of days on his own! Apparently he is owed a bit of R+R!
Anyway I suggested he sleeps somewhere in collina di Posillipo and takes the train from Mergellina to the centre whenever he wants to explore but he wants to feel more "alive" and proposes staying in Spaccanapoli - what says the forum?

There is a good hostel not far from the Spaccanapoli - 6SmallRooms just off the Via Toledo. They do a b&b option as well.

Thanks Sano - do you know the name? if it is a hostel does that mean everyone can borrow your things and forget to give them back or do you have secure lockers? Bro. has a preposterously covetous digital SLR that I would not wish him to part compay with.
I suggested he stay in via Posillipo area but he wants "earthy" - are there any boutique hotels in Spacconapoli - perhaps run by and for eccentric folk from the rag-trade, music biz or visual arts (I have always found this type of hotel good fun in other boisterous cities) or is that as preposterous a notion as bro's camera?
Aliena, do you know any Friday night music venues - perhaps that serve food so you can chomp loudly while you enjoy the music.

Hi Sdoj,

I don't recall any secure storage in the hostel but figure they probably do have a safe. We took the b&b option last time we were there so our room was locked when we were not around. Their website is: [url]http://www.6smallrooms.com/index.php[/url]

I do not know of any boutique hotels in that area (more's the pity) but maybe higher up the ridge along one of the funiculare routes there might be something.
