Disposable nappies are the worst they hang around for no one knows how many generations.
It's a shame we are such a throw away society fridges, cookers, etc etc The west throws things away that many deprived societies would be using for years, mostly due to changing trends, fashion and a desire for new stuff. Is there any hope for us!!!

and thats why 3 years ago, san bat [my area] well east of that region,started
to have to take rubbish from naples area.its stopped now.
so now that they have made a landfill near to my town, they will use it not
too far in the future,as building land.
the rubbish,once compressed, acts as a sort of suspension,so when the
next earthquake happens,in the area,no damage should accur.
trust the napolitans to show the rest how to use your loaf.....:)

Maybe we should ask Frank if we can ship it all to Canada - they have loads of space and don't know what to do with it all.

In fact when I went to Toronto to visit friends a few years ago, I nipped over to Montreal for a couple of days to visit the "Just For Laughs Museum" and it was shut - guess they must have lost their sense of humour

One difficulty they will find though is that when they build over landfill, there are problems related to methane release from decomposition of the contents of the landfill, also, because it is decomposing, it is not terrifically stable either in the long term.

:) If all you can see when you visit Naples is dirt and rubbish, and you can't see the beautiful people, scenery, food, buildings and culture. Well, I'm afraid that says more about you than the place. You see what you want to see. You discover what you want to discover. I'm glad there are things here that keep a lot of tourists away because I feel like I live in the real Southern Italy, without throngs of tourists making it into some sort of Disney land attraction.:)

i actually agree with u. so the problem is were do we begin with italys waste

actually i have posted on this ...ages ago... maybe manopello you have got the wrong triangle... in local terms it is called the fields of fire... an area to the north of naples... not local rubbish but imported industrial waste..... and before just dumping the waste out into the open a favorite habit was in fact to mix it into the cements mixes of new apartmants...especially the low cost housing ones...whos going to notice a few extra deaths amongst the council house tenants... its extermely current here... frank just brought up the wrong article... out od date and really just a landfill question... the world health organisation was alerted because of the massive increase in cancers in the area and decided to ask questions... the results toxic radioactive waste seeping into the water systems underground... and sorry to say glowing green buffalo cheese... now for all of you that say its another abriuzzo attack on another are i would also point out most of my italian family come fromthat region... in fact sitting here in italy with an italian family i find it almost but not really laughable when the defence of varios regions or crimes within those areas are just put down because no one seems to have the sense to see that these problems affect us all here... instead of hate mail from puglia or heads in the sand or declarations of love of all things italian ... read the facts... know italy before commenting... frank has a point... a bit outdated.. and in a sense only posted because as he says on the puglia forum they all seem to have a go at that area... a sort of revenge attack... but its true... in all of the southern regions puglia is the least to be worried over... but it doesnt make it better or right... campania has it worse... true.. but should we gloat over bad things.. no .. but frank if you want to start comparisons or whatever you will win ... puglia is less polluted and less criminalised than campania... your right... i just say lets all try and stop in our own small way what is bad or un acceptable in any area we have a love for or an affinity to... frank... you should be fighting to protect your beloved region not from me...but the people that do it to the place... and aliena ... loathe as i am to get into an arguement with you... if you love campania use yoyur wit...your writng skills and your knowledge not to knock frank...we all know why he posted thsi but to try..and keep on trying to make better the life of those that cannot speak out a bit bettre and safer...

Because Aliena was tired.. tired of fighting.. tired of taking on a defence against what seemed like the whole Forum at times.. tired of exposing the bigots.. tired of seeing a thread such as this started for the sole intention of goading.. tired of the wounded and false pride of the poster when it's clear the reasons they did it.. and it all took it's toll.. 6 months of constant battling against the establishment of this Forum and its regular snipers had worn me out.

I've deleted every single post I possibly could with the exception of a few prize gems for the w*****s and the posts within locked threads that I couldn't get to, as I was tired of feeling there is a death warrant hanging over Alienas head simply because I do not conform.

I was tired of the way I am constantly sniped at by dancing fools.. who validate their existence here as an appendage.. and still continue to believe they can ride the wave into Alienas Bay!

I was tired of a Mod hounding me for days before the recent outburst, but for now.. hiding behind a screen with finger hovering.. waiting.. probably tempted to push the button, but yet, only daring to attack Alienas PM box with anger and spite. I was tired of 'flip flops' who have only ever taken from this forum and then whizz across to the new Puglia Posse Forum to report, snigger and exaggerate everything here.

I was tired of the hypocrisy from the ones who tut tutted at a thread going off topic even though they had also done it ~ don't any one of you who have had a snipe even dare say you haven't 'cus the proof is there ~ I've done my research ~ do yours!

I was tired of upstarts like another new Mod.. is it spelt with a k or not.. thinking they are of more importance than God.. by tampering with a post that had already been edited by Ronald, but wasn't caring enough to leave a reason why it had been re-edited. I was tired of a situation being manipulated "to keep it interesting". I was tired of not being treated the same and being told outright that I am singled out for "different treatment". I was tired of posts being tampered with.. edited.. deleted.. even though it was admitted that there was nothing wrong with the original posts!

I was tired that some don't care enough to do something about it. I was tired of battling for things to progress this Forum forward ~ like the area now known as the 'Playpen' and the chatroom ~ how many sniggered? Now they are used and appreciated by many including some who sniggered. I was tired of watching those who turn their noses up at some having fun then read and comment on the very same threads they say are a disgrace!

I was tired that a thread which had more than 200 postings in it stayed 98% on topic from beginning to end and proved that it can be done.. without fights or argument.. even about COFFEE.. is now destroyed and designated to be thrown away like rubbish on the say so of someone who has probably not read it or understood the message it contained!

I was tired of trying to be only who I am.. a women without a veil.. with no hidden agenda. I was tired of watching the snipers twitch behind dirty net curtains.. of having new rules shoved down my throat without right, reason, agreement, consultation or compromise!

I was tired that some Mods think they have RIGHTS.. when they are privileges. I was tired of feeling someone is watching my every move.. waiting to pounce. I was tired of the dictatorship! I was tired of not having any form of redress.

I was simply tired.. but because of your words of encouragement, John.. I am not tired anymore!

Finally, Mods and Rockers.. this Hells Angel didn't break a single one of the current new rules with this post.. so leave it alone. :D

Aliena, you are perfectly right in that this post does not break any of the rules, however, I have just been sent a copy of the post you made four hours before this one, someone is circulating it to everyone you named, I hope this does not cause too much trouble to you. I would of course have seen the earlier post anyway, and respect your right to edit it, but, some of the others on the forum may not feel quite the same way.

Thank you for the information, however, I am, as always, fully aware that a copy would remain in the Mods administration log. I remain confident the timings of posting and deletion will also be available, if required!

I was also fairly sure a copy had been made of the original post, where I named names and then pressed the "submit reply" button and I knew a couple of snipers were within striking distance!

It was late.. and as I have stated many times.. I was tired.. also, if memory serves.. I had also edited the post a few times and it then occurred to me that I had perhaps broken a rule, so I decided to delete the original post..

I reposted as above.. still not changing the context or the main body of the post - simply removing names - but still making it clear exactly what I refered to.

I have no problem with the original post being distributed to whoever the copycat deems suitable.. in fact if any of the Mods believe it is so significantly different from the post above.. each and every one of the Mods has my express permission to post a copy here on the Forum for all to see.

Should the copycat/s even feel it is required to be posted in this thread.. they also have Aliena's permission to post it or circulate it.. but I advise a careful reading of the new rules beforehand! :D
