2734 Wine: Can anyone please Recommend a good book on the making process / types & Grapes
Hi All,
Recently I was in Canada, and we were in a Italian restaurant, two of my Canadian friends (who work as professional Barmen) were discussing the differneces between Valpolicella and Amorane. Unfortunatly, we had hade more than 5 bottles between us and I can't really remember much! :p
I would like to understand the process / grapes and differneces and become a bit more learned in the subject.
Can anyone please recommend a book to read that covers these topics up to a moderate level?
Thank you!

How about Jancis Robinson's Wine Course (BBC Books) that accompanied the TV series. It's very comprehensive but written in a light readable style. We enjoyed it very much despite never having seen the TV progs.
