I have read somewhere you can get LPG powered appliances - when I find the information I shall post it (nope I think I was dreaming it! - cant find anything)
did find this!!!

or even this!!!

I like my 600Watts Travel kettlemakes one large cup of tea at a time - but it has auto cut out - so you can go and leave it. The other option is to use the microwave - but for some reason you get scum in your tea that way - dont know why!
Or of course a kettle on the gas hob!
Cant find washing machines but is this a dryer?

Don't know whether you have a local Auschen hypermarket but the one in Pescara sells a good range of white goods and the prices seem quite competetive too.

Whilst on this thread can anyone recommend any furniture stores in Abruzzo. As ours is a second home we need everything and so far all of the sofas we have seen are either horrendously expensive or just horrendous!!

Our washing machine is 1000rpm! As already mentioned your local Euronics store is probably best for white goods. As for furniture try www.mondoconv.it who I think have a branch near Sienna. Also possible to order online as we have friends who did this from the Uk very successfully. worth taking a look at the site anyway.

Yes the website is good, as are the prices. No catches have always been pleased with service provided when we have taken delivery of goods for clients. Worth visiting a store sometime if you can to have a browse around. They can usually give you a delivery date at the time of ordering, a lot of stock is kept in distribution warehouses. The one time we did have a problem with damaged goods it was resolved very satisfactorily, though it did take a while. You have to remember that this is Italy you are in when dealing with problems, no reason to rush, but it will get resolved!!
White goods
We have just bought a 'fixer-upper' in the Mugello, just to the east of Firenze and are struggling to find a big store (Currys style!) for inexpensive fridges and washing machines etc. We would be grateful for a clue for anything within 50 miles or so of Firenze, or an online provider. Considering half the worlds whitegoods are made in Italy, prices at the local store seem steep, and who needs a 600 spin washing machine, I wasn't aware they even made them anymore!
Hi you two, try the Hyper COOP at Navacchio... about 15k before pisa airport.
They have quite often got specials on, we got 1000 spin wash/mc for 275euro's.
As regard electricity and 600 spin, then upgrade is posssible to 6k or even 9k.
Ciao

I was going to upgrade to 4.5Kw - sted €200 one off fee - then 4€ more a month - but their computer crashed as I was ordering it

Moby Dick, Something like that cheap furniture between Giulianova and Villa Rosa, or Mercatone Uno which we found just south of Roseto deli Abruzzi, Both places were very reasonable for basic furniture.
Hope this helps.
Hi Perry and Jerry,
I could be wrong but I think the 600 spin is because of the limitations of Italian electricity supply (3kw in total).
I was frustrated that our little 'travel kettle' took ages to boil a titchy amount of water so have purchased a rapid boil electric kettle to take over to Italy next time - only to find it is 3kw - so if i boil the kettle the lights will go out.
Benvenuta a Italia (you'll still love it!!)
