2860 More new members, wanting to move to Puglia.

Hi,
We are an energetic couple in our late fifties, Not looking to retire but relocate to Puglia within eighteen months.
We currently run a small business in Hove, Sussex, UK.
Ideal location, somewhere on the coast just north of Bari to just south of Brindisi.
A townhouse/villa with lots of space and garden/land, shabby but habitable.
Love the site, very amusing friendly and informative, looking forward to being active and helpful members, in the meantime all constructive help would be greatly appreciated.
Ciao, Jan & peter.

Welcome to the forum. Hope you find it as useful as we have done over the last few years since we decided to relocate out here. Another couple for Puglia!!

Welcome, We have recently brought our Trullo but only as a holiday home. There are many members on here that have brought or moved to Puglia. Best thing is to use the search at the top to find all Puglia related info.

Hi Jan & Peter,
We moved to Puglia in September 2004 with our 2 daughters & we are very happy here. We haven`t retired (would like to though!!). What sort of work are you looking to do? I think my main piece of advice is to make sure you`ve got enough money/or UK income to keep you for a couple of years as it takes a very long time to get settled in and, if starting a business, to start earning sufficient money. Also, think very carefully about what sort of house you want to buy and whether you really want to be isolated in the countryside or whether you`d rather be close to a town. Winters here are very harsh - mainly because houses aren`t really designed to cope with the cold so you feel it more than you do in the UK. Also fuel is much more expensive here. It`s probably a good idea to rent for a year or so first while you adjust to living here and look around for property to buy at your leisure. We`ve just spent 18 months living in what was originally our holiday home (a bit cramped to say the least!) but we`ve been able to have a good look round and have now found what I hope is the perfect house for us.
Good luck and remember...`piano, piano`...
Hazel:)

Hi,
Thank you for the welcome, we forgot to mention it in our introduction but have been reminded by our parrot that he's coming too, his name is Pepper and he's a characterful Orange winged Amazon who's looking forward to making lots of new friends.
Ciao, Jan & Peter.
