2832 Internet Search Engines

When searching for consumer products in the UK - I can get to an answer quickly - using 7metasearch, altavista or google

however - when I search for Italian products I seem to only find other search engines

Is this because I am not specific enough - because I dont understand Italian?

Or is there a good search engine?

Pellet Stoves in the UK gets you companies that actually sells stoves

Pellet Stufa on [url]www.altavista.it[/url] or any other - gets you more search engines - the - way I get over it - is looking at the core web address and the bottom of the individual listing and typing it in - you go to the home page - and so you dont waste time with search engines - so dont quick link

Have you tried Google with 'your preferences' set to 'Pages written in Italian'?

part of the problem is that there seems to be an active search engine spamming community in Italy - these people try to redirect you to their site and then to a site you may be interested in hoping to get a share from your click.

Try some of the italian websites (tiscali.it, virgilio.it or libero.it) and also try to browse through their index rather than a straight-forward search. unfortunately the web in Italy still has some way to go.

(Trying Google with only Italian pages is another very good way - or if you can go straight to google.it)

btw, pellet stoves seem to be getting very popular in Sicily as well :)
