2825 multifuel/wood burning stoves

ciao a tutti i am planning on taking a multifuel/woodburner over to italy i plan on fitting this myself does anyone know who i would need to speak to about getting it checked once fitted and getting the certificates to say that it has been checked. ciao thanks marco

It depends what your wood burning stove does, if it also heats the hotwater, then a plumber. You might try a technician from a local company which sells a range of stoves, however it's most unlikely anyone will give you a certificate for a stove they didn't manufacture or fit themselves. A certificate is a guarantee for the work & no one will risk their livelyhood to guarantee work you carried out yourself and of course they can't guarantee the stove.

ciao lavander thanks for the reply the reason i asked is that in this country you can fit these your self or get a hetas engineer to do it for you however you still need to have it checked by the council to get the certificate to say it has been properly installed and complies to the regulations you are then given a certificate of compliance. i was wondering as the regulations are all now european led wether it is the same for italy especially if the placeis to be rented out? ciao marco

Thought it must have been! We have decided to install a small wood burning stove ourselves, to save on tank gas costs next winter. What a selection to choose from, wow.........

I have fitted dozens of stoves in UK, France and here ( am fitting a Tirolia at the moment) but have never bothered the council. What is the reason for doing so? What is the advantage of getting a certificate?

understand where you are coming from cardi however would the law and insurance company see it the same way if by chance there was an accident whilst renting the place out ?? ciao marco

Marco,

Why are you bringing a wood-burning stove from England ?

Isn't it a bit like sending coals to Newcastle or igloos to Trulli_Land ?

Anyway I have read on this forum of one fire and two near fires caused by badly installed stoves ... enough said.
