My wife and I and another couple are planning to travel to Italy and stay in Madonna Di Campiglio in the alps for 3 months this winter. All the lodgin I have been able to find caters to weekly visitors, which makes it far too expensive for us. What we are really looking for is just a standard apartment rental, without any fancy services or perks. Just somewhere affordable that can be rented on a monthly basis and provides all of the things one would need for daily life (a couple of bedrooms, fully functional kitchen, shower, telephone connection available). Does anybody have an idea of how to find this, or where I could look online? I don't speak Italian, unfortunately, so it adds another layer of complexity to finding lodging there. Any advise would be appreciated.

Hi Steve, you can rent for the winter months only, I've done it myself. Madonna di Campiglio itself will be very expensive anyway, however if you try Pinzolo, 10 minutes drive down the hill you can get much better value. There are also lifts at Pinzolo but most people drive up to the Groste cable car at Madonna. Please pm me your details and when you want to be there and I'll send you some contact numbers you can ring...
