2940 Mailing Food Parcels

I have a quick question for you all - I do know that some of you post goods back and forth between Italy, the UK and elsewhere and I need your advice.

I am trying to find a way to post biscuits to the UK and South Africa - in a way that they will arrive in a better state than just crumbs. Any suggestions?

Plastic bubble wrap and a cardboard tube around them, inside a shoe box... errrm, it will work for Francavilla too ;-)

Thanks!

So, how do you feel about biscotti and/or butter biscuits?

Solid cardboard box, bubble wrap (George is clearly experienced in sending foodstuffs...;) ) and also filling any small gaps with kitchen roll. Make sure each pack is safely wrapped!

Oh, and you'll need a red thick marker for scribbling on the parcel: DON'T SHAKE! ;)

Have received and sent yummy parcels to & from Germany almost completely intact using above methods!!

Thanks. Would you pack the biscuits in tin or plastic containers?

Most of the stuff would be quite solid and can handle a bit of shaking, but the one type of biscotti that I want to send over is quite brittle due to the large volume of nuts it contains - of the batch I made this past weekend fully a third of the biscuits crumbled before the baking was even done (not that anyone minded eating the 'rejects').

Ohh you're making your own biccies?? Lovely! Here's my addy... ;)

I'd put them into a tin, as plastic can be dented. But make sure you wrap them in kitchen roll inside the tin to avoid them getting too rattled...

Good luck! :)

Trust me, they are somewhat better than 'edible' only...

The one thing I do do well is cooking, especially baking...

Yummy, right then off to find the postie, see if any have arrived yet...

Why? Don't they have delicious biscuits in South Africa?

Of course they do (I am a frequent visitor to online SA shops as well) but these are biscuits I make myself that you would not find in shops there or here for that matter. I would like to send some to my mum and my sister (in SA and the UK respectively).

OK! Homemade now that is different, we understand!!!!!!! Are you going to share the recipe with the forum?

Sano....

OK tell me the price - mm mm mmmm - love home made - they better be good - but if they are - I'll pay - I'll pay - I might just wait till I am in Italy tho - and have them delivered there - I like treats !!!!

However - seeing as you are sending to SA - I am in CT in April - would you like my address there too!!!

I'll pay the postage!!!
