Are English estate agents honest?
They are there to sell!
It's a tricky business - but as my mum did in the UK - she found a house she liked - knocked on the door - and six months later she bought it - no agents involved!!!
Suspect that it is not Italy Magazines responsibility to vet the Estate Agents that wish to advertise in the magazine or on the forum. After all you must remember that they (Italy Magazine)depend on advertising revenue heavily.

I actually dont think im expecting too much at all,as a member on this forum looking to purchase a house if i use the property agents advertising homes on here and if I have the problems that have been encounted by some, do you not think that the magazine would feel a bit negligent?after all I would trust this magazine not to do business with dodgy estate agents, considering what this forum is all about , advising, preventing, helping, whats the point of it all if its not being regulated here, you cant name and shame them(Agents) but they can rip you off instead, no I dont think im expecting too much.

As much as I agree it would be nice if this were to happen but how and what would be the vetting criteria that any publication could use to do this. It has been pointed out that registration or even certification for mediators does not guarantee good service. Also, who started out as being good may change practice with time. As a nurse I have to re-register every three years but does this mean all nurses are good

Also, I guess it would be difficult to refuse someone's advert on hearing of a bad case alone - perhaps a court order of negligence of a particular estate agent could then lead to their adverts being dropped as a result ... but on hearsay alone, that unfortunately can be interpreted as libellous. However true the accusations might be...
continuing the question....
Having looked through the property section here on the forum, I wondered if the estate agents that advertise properties and their services are vetted as being honest, and have the relevant qualifications, for the services they offer, from the sale to the finale stone being laid, how does Italian mag protect their readers and members here on the forum against the estate agents that are just out to rip people off? after all it does happen. Thankyou
At that point why limit it to estate agents? there are plenty of other abusive operators including many brits....but i guess it's not the mag's task to vet as someone already said.........

I guess the only thing that anyone could do would be to contact the magazine which carried the advert for the "dodgy" company after they had received bad service, the magazine would then have the opportunity, after seeing a patern, refuse the advertisements, also, merely carrying an advert does not mean the magazine is giving any guarantee or warranty of any kind, they merely provide you with the means to contact the agent or whoever.
