your electrician should know, anyway you will get a live line and neutral line from enel then have the third wire(hearth) from the safety switch RCD to applyances and has to be as thick as the wires you are using. I live in ostuni
so if I can be of any help contact me.

In a similar vein (at least I think it is) has anyone had any experience of lightning conductors? I`m going to ask our electrician when I can track him down, but I`d quite like a bit of info in the meantime. We`re just about to move into our new house which sits on the top of a hill - it`s new, so maybe it already has a lightning conductor, but it would be interesting to hear other` experiences.

Earthing TT or TN-S?

Thanks for all the good advice.
My supply head cabling is not exposed and I cannot see if it has got an earth screen but there is only live and neutral cable run to the consumer unit. The unit includes an RCD and I am very aware of the need for a good earth at this point albeit I believe that I do not have one.
I am aiming to add an earthing connection both to the steel water pipe which feeds down to my artesian well and to several earth spikes positioned in more shaded, and hopefully damper parts of the ground. I was also going to bond the water pipes within the trulli which also run under the drive to various external taps. I am aiming to use 10mm earth cabling to each of the main earthing points connected to the common earth by the consumer unit and connecting the neutral also to this point. Hopefully the combination of this lot will maintain a reasonable earth even in dry conditions.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks for the info. Will examine intake when we are out there in a week's time.
From the meter to the consumer unit there is only a two wire unscreened cable but I am not sure about the supply point cabling.
