2988 Reclamation Yard/Antique market in Puglia

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a reclamation yard in Puglia. We have a house near Alberobello and I have been trying to find an old dinning table for months. I want something quite rustic but everything I have seen so far in Antique shops is far too elegant and expensive.

Do you know if there are any antique markets in the area?

Or perhaps you know someone who has some old tables for sale or a carpenter who might be able to find one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Most of the towns have general makets and sometimes have furnature. I remember Taranto had more of a specific antique market.

Ostuni, I believe has a furniture market once a month, I'll find out when the next is and let you know.

Martina Franca also has an `antiques` market once a month - couldn`t tell you exactly when but next time I see the posters up I`ll let you know.

Hazel, I guess thats not the same as the big general market on a Wednesday. Be really handy to know when the antique market is held and is it in the same place as the general one?

living in ostuni I know, you will find an antique market in ostuni the second sunday of every month, and it's held aroun the villa comunale (gardens).
there also is a second hand and antique shop near lecce somewere,I could find out for you if you want

Thanks to all of you for your replies. I will be going to Italy the first week in April so I will miss the market in Ostuni. So if anyone knows the dates for the Martina Franca market, please let me know.

Thanks again

There are also a couple of shops that sell old furniture in the centre of Ostuni, just off the square, across the road as if your walking up the hill to the church at the top. There is one on the right next to the tabaconist and one a bit further up on the left hand side. Very hard trying to explain...:o
