The geometra has taken the measurements for the registration (of the real estate - catasto) and the restoration project.

It was not possible to take the measurements of the first floor because the door was locked.

The complete address is.......

Hi James & Andrea -

I'm no expert, but as no-one else has had a go yet, here goes:

Dear Andea and James

The geometra has taken the measurements for the building up and progress of the restructure.

It has not been possible to take the measurements on the first floor because the door was closed.

The complete address is.......

John

Thank you John, that would make sense, as we locked the front door before leaving (thinking they had a key). James.

Hi Andrea and James

I think you've already got the translation you need now. However, here is the version I got by using the free automatic translator on http://www.worldlingo.com/en/products_services/worldlingo_translator.html :

Beloveds Andrea and James
the geometrician has taken the measures for the stacking and the plan of restructure.
It has not been possible to take the measures to the first plan why the door was sluice.
Complete Lindirizzo is .....

Allowing that 'sluice' is a curious translation of 'chiuso', and the auto-translator chickened out comlpletely on 'lindirizzo', I think it is not bad ... for nothing, anyway.
Hope it may be useful in future.
Best wishes

It is always worth trying http://babelfish.altavista.com/ for translations. I can'r believe it is only 'Hitch Hiker' fans who know of this site!

Hope it helps
Carol

I suspect Lindirzzo should be L'indirizzo

Previously - and correctly translated by your human translators!!!

Tranlsator's dont allow for human error!!!

very often in lazy chat - Italians say ke? for che? ..ecc.

Well spotted, Glen. And good to know that nothing beats the human element.
The online translator recognised ' l'indirizzo ' okay. As will I, from now on...!

Have to say, though, that 'my' online translator did a somewhat better job than Ford Prefect's.
