Q1 20 or 25
Q2 Senator 100
After about 5000 you become a plebian again at the start of another incarnation and then after 1 billion you emerge butterfly like as a Sirena ;)

Not sure I'll live to post a billion!!!!
How about the envelope colours?? This riveting thread has got a borey blue!
Who rates the thread with a pink/red envelope or damns it with the booooring blue one? What's the criteria?
That related to the number of replies; hover over the red envelope & you'll see what I mean
What is the warning triangle with the "1" (bottom right, sometimes?
I believe it's an exclamation mark(is it?) & it's to allow you to grass up threads that are entirely aimed at advertising or a just plain 'nasty'.
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
...you can also vote for your/others threads by selecting the RATE THREAD button on the green bar just below POST REPLY.
It's a simple way of allowing everyone to assess the benefit of a thread.

I spotted the "rate this thread" star system - trouble is that if you want to rate the thread as really bad you have to give it one star!!!
Perhaps that is why I'm always disaapointed with my one star hotels.....didn't realise it is code for dreadful.

For an explanation of the "envelope" system, scroll to the bottom of the initial "circolo" screen

I thought it was only 15 to move from bleb to Equestrian? Found it knew, I'd read it somewhere.
I was wondering how long it would take before someone asked about the new titles! and dave and denise even did some background research!
Plebeians in this forum - rather than "vulgar, unwashed masses" are members with less than 15 posts. As soon as you reach 15 posts you are upgraded to the all together more agreeable class of Equestrian - while anyone reaching the respectable sum of 100 posts is a Senator. Finally, if you really apply yourself and make it to 300 posts you can call yourself a true Patrician.
Just thought its all more interesting than "junior member", "member", etc... and educational as well

Aha - but that doesn't explain when a post becomes "hot", and starts to glow pinkish or red.......
I'm fascinated: when does one advance from plebeian to equestrian, to which level must I aspire next, (can I have an elephant rather than a horse) and am I right in detecting some very politically incorrect sexism :) :) because all the Senators seem to be men.....?

and...I thought sirens were Greek...buit there seems to be only one Sirena here (TGFT)
Answers - please!! (Clearly my desire for knowledge is insatiable..)
You forget to mention pretors.
We've a couple here too.
Still missing, quaestor, proconsul, consul, imperator.......dictator (any candidate for this one ? )
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Don't tempt me to go for Dictator!! Caesar will do (then somebdy can stab me in the back)!!
That related to the number of replies; hover over the red envelope & you'll see what I mean.
It means 15 replies or more than 150 views. Open envelope has new posts, closed not. ;)
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Seemed like a reasonable calculation to make the envelope go pink......but (sorry, I really must have very little to do :)...) it seems to depend on which forum you're in: there is a tennis court thread in one section with 6 replies and 60 views, and it has gone pink!!
(I can only surmise it might be because we have some tennis players in the Senate......)??

It's blue! Glitches Relaxed glitches. ;)

Ir's pink!! Triumph!!
Seems like the number of views outranks the number of replies. I had rather hoped to be able to watch the envelope turn pink, but gave up on that idea since I couldn't figure out whether I could achieve this by keeping my finger on the refresh button of the browser, or if I would have to log in and out on a millisecond basis. Good to test these theories:)

Ha ha ha, you really are bored! :D
Now you've got me at again, it's still blue my end, are we looking at the same thread?

We have to be looking at the same thread - unless we are both posting by some sort of remote control....:)
This is really weird - if it is still blue for you, but pink for me??
Unless a moderator decided that if I was given a pink envelope I would shut up, and had a method of giving only me the pink elephant (sorry, envelope) - fat chance - they don't get rid of an idiot that easily!!

:D :D :D
It's now changed for me too, didn't see any elephants but new post and more views. Shall we see if we can detect more? not! ;)
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Really pleased we are both in the pink now :)
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Yes, tis a good thing and of course pink is for girls and blue for boys! :o ;)

Darling baggio - I do this stuff while listening to BBC Radio 4, with rss feeds from other sources, plus half an ear on the iPod through the Creatures.....it is called multitasking!!
Really appreciate that you have twigged this is the most interesting/boring/active thread (yawn yawn) - get in here and start something better!!
Or get into the chatroom!! Amuse us :)
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Darling Relaxed, I am not paid to amuse you;) however I am sure I could if I chose to. As a mother of five, and I also run a business, I think I am extremely familiar with the concept of multi tasking, the phrase telling granny how to suck eggs springs to mind!!;) sorry I missed the chatroom last night, I'm sure it was fun.
