3078 Ravenna in June or September?

Not knowing much about that particular corner of Italy - would Ravenna be unpleasantly muggy already in June? I have to choose between going there in June or the end of September. I don't want to go when it is oppressively hot/humid so am leaning toward September, but if the weather there is ok in June it would be a much better time for me to be going.

Help!

Should be absolutely perfect in June, in my opinion. If you have a car, try and get to Comacchio which is a stunning little Venice type village (water in the streets, I mean) not too far from Ravenna.

Thanks - I am considered a weapon of mass destruction when behind the wheel of a car so out of consideration for the survival of my fellow man I do not drive anymore - will try and find a way to get to Comacchio though - am over for a week long course and will allow a few days either side to explore the area.

Hope you meet some drivers on the course!!!

Given the corner of Italy it is in, and knowing that that area is prone to fog during the cooler months of the year, I am assuming it will have some humidity in the summer as well. Using Dublin as a yardstick so am quite possibly wrong.

Well i have been to Ravenna in Sept & June, yes June will be a bit more muggy than Sept, but both months are really lovely!. I am sure you will be happy with either choice. My wife and i now live in Ferrara which is not far away from Ravenna, make sure you visit the Mosaics! Molto importante!!!. Enjoy your stay whenever it is!, and if you have time hop on the train and visit Ferrara!, the journey does not take long!

Fully endorse the recommendation for Ferrara: in case you are interested in water plants, they have a fantastic selection in Ferrara's botanical gardens (though June is probably too early for the Lotuses and waterlilles) - but then your alternative of September would be too late for the loti. Shame!!
