3086 Tips for teenagers in Le Marche?

Does anyone have any tips about stuff for teenagers to get up to in Le Marche? We have friends wanting to stay in our place next summer who are worried theres not enough to keep their 13/14 year olds happy.
I suspect my ideas of holiday bliss are somewhat different from theirs - are there any water theme parks near the coast? (we're near Amandola/Sarnanao so about 40 kms from the coast), do the factory outlets selling shoes etc close in August? Is it easy to hire mountain bikes? I have seen signs to a 'Sexy disco' in Sarnano! Has anyone been? is it suitable for under 18s?
I have seen quadbiking advertised in Amandola and I believe they are about to start hot air balloon trips near San Ginesio which sounds a fab idea - has anyone heard more?
I know the markets have lots of rather garish teen appeal clothes which may go down well, Sarnano is Thur and Amandola Wed - are there others locally?
My 9 year old step son is in heaven with a swimming pool and lots of running around space - think teenagers need a bit more. Any help or advice would be great.
Thanks. They are thinking of coming either early June or Aug 12 week if anything particular happens then.

Some of the beaches have volley ball, but I think the nearest water park is Rimini.

The disco at Sarnano definitely not suitable - its a bit of a lap dancing haven! There is Mirage at Passo. but unless they are going with someone older - they are a bit young as far as the Italians go to be there on their own.

The quad biking at Lake Fiastra could be ok - but you need to check if they have to be 18 - however there are pedalos you can take on the Lake. You don't say if they are male or female - the handbag/shoe and clothes market at Civitanova is really good as are the undercover shops at Tolentino (La Rancia) and Piedaripa (Val di Chienti) - loads of great fashion, way ahead of the uk and not too expensive.

If they are in Marche for August 14/15 then the Pallio at San Ginesio is unmissable. By the way the ballooning is 200 euro per person.....

Send me a pm if you want anything else and I'll give you my mobile number. Good luck, hope it helps

I know a brill. place that could teach them about cleaning out dog runs and general gardening tasks at very reasonable fees... Or you could always send them down to Porto S. Giorgio for the disco's on / near the beach, or trips to Porto S. Elpidio, beach and those kite/surfboard things and the shops in Commercial Zone (another City Per Mall) then on up to Civitanova marche for the shops and again beach. :)

Many thanks for that. I'll be steering well clear of the sexy disco!! Tee - had thought it might be a place where the local kids hung out in summer - might be rather more educational a trip than their parents had hoped for! I was hoping there might be somewhere the grown ups could have a civilised drink on a terrace while the younger ones made friends. Lol.
Ouch the ballooning is pricy but I bet its fanatastic - a once in a lifetime thing I guess.
Its a girl of 14 and a boy of 13 I'm hoping to please, will try to find out more about the quadbiking ages. Clothes shopping sounds great for the girl.
The festival on the 12th sounds wonderful. Will pm you if I get stuck for more info.
Any more details about local festivals would be great..
I'm sure I've seen signs for a water park on the drive from Pescara north..

Cheers George - beach discos sound great and possibly ideal for a one night out treat.
I'll find out how keen they are on dogs - perhaps we could borrow a couple for a week?!!

hey what an idea - loan out dogs to people who are missing their own pooches on hols! Theres money to be made ya know - rent a car, rent a hound...

Can anyone give similar information for slightly older teenagers (15 to 17) in or around Lanciano/Pescara.

What age can youngsters go into bars and how do you identify normal discos as opposed to lap dancing emporiums!!

Cheers

Jackie

Yes I wondered how they knew the sexy disco was a lap dancing club - I guess the clue is in the name! we always giggle at the signs all over le marche for the 'sexy shop' somewhere in civitanova - its advertised for 50 kms around!

I'm sure its not because David is a regular visitor..

LOL, loaning out pooches, the family who holiday at the farm up the hill made a similar suggestion last year, they wanted to buy a dog from me and just leave it when they went home, to keep their little lad occupied !!! Milanese, Hahhhh....
Also, rem. the big cinema in Piediripa, does dual language films too, at least I've been told they do, you wear headphones !?!?

Heeee, hee - David would run a mile - he spent last weekend locked in the sanctuary of the kitchen - we had a party of hens in - aged 35 to 45 who were outrageous! Frightened all our male staff.

Zojis in Sarano used to be a disco, but changed hands a couple of years ago - you have to be careful with names, discos are usually safe, but add the word sexy or adult and? clubs on the other hand can be either.

The closest decent ones to us that Georgina goes to (I've only been allowed to go once, obviously my dancing left a lot to be desired) are Gialou Open Air Club, Corridonia and Lolas at Porta Recanti, my personal favourite - 3 dance floors to include Latin lessons every half an hour.

The only problem for me is the fact they only leave the house at 1200 midnight! I'm leaving it to the youngsters!

There is a huge water park in Macerata. I don't remember the name. There are also designer outlets ( high end D&G, Versace etc..) in Ancona but you would have to find out where they are and when they are open to the public.

Maybe Notaio can help out.

Frank

Here is the link for the water park.

Oh thats great news about the water park - thanks Frank - will investigate further. Are the factory outlets likely to be open in august?

That club at Porto Recanti sounds great, I do worry these days that when I go clubbing they think someones Mum has arrived ...We had a party of hens last year, no trouble at all, yours sound much more fun Pam..
M

Yes they are open. Best way is to ask a local resident.

The factory outlet shops are closed for ferragosto, usually from around the 10th August. Also most of the designs are for older ages. Fornarina is one of the younger generation and they have an outlet in Civitanova. However the under cover malls in Tolentino and Macerata (Val di Chienti) have loads of young designs - Terranova, Benetton, Forza di Amore etc.

I have to be up on fashion - I'm producing the show for Viva Italia, so have been speaking with the various designers, plus I can shop for the Olympics! Georgina can also tell you where the best sales and bargains are. There's another great shop along the SS78 at Ripe San Ginesio - its on the right in a small parade next to a graphic designers - can't remember what its called but they have sales at the end of July - everything 5 - 10 euro.

There is definately quite a large water park off the A14 north of Pescara I've seen the slides - also San Benedetto just into Le Marche is quite a trendy and large resort town always packed with teenage kids in the summer and plenty of discos. There are a few smaller water parks just north of San Benedetto along the coast near the motorway junction with Pedaso.

Great I was sure I'd seen one near there too - I wasn't hallucinating!

thanks

The best thing to do for make 13/14 years old kids happy is to stay not far from the center of any town, in August rather than in June. I think that's it. The rest will come along: friendship, love and everything. A little bit of Italian is necessary, but it won't be hard to learn.
The thrill for socialize is nothing better than by playing together (like in a 5-aside soccer tournament, or something similar), and in August shouldn't be so hard.

As far as clubs are involved, there are some small clubs near the main towns, like Cingoli, San Severino, Tolentino, Macerata of course.
The best, anyway, are in the coast. In the summer from Pesaro to San Benedetto is a whole open-air club. Civitanova Marche is a good destination if staying in Macerata area. Porto Recanati and Marcelli di Numana for southern Ancona and Conero area, Senigallia for Corinaldo and Jesi, Fano and Pesaro for the surrounding area, Urbino plays for itself (university town, like Camerino), Porto San Giorgio for Fermo, San Benedetto for Ascoli Piceno and surrounding area (Offida and so on).

For shoes outlet, in Casette d'Ete, near Fermo, there is Tod's and Silvano Mazza (Prada designer), and Roberto Botticelli.

Near Arcevia there is another good area for outlets, which is Piticchio (shoes as well). Arcevia looks like a good area to stay with kids, because there a re a lot of families with guys, and it is well organized for tourist since it's a good resort.

Water parks are in San Faustino di Cingoli (see the link above), and Tortoreto (http://www.acquaparkondablu.it/).

For Quads, you can ask to Gentili Sale renter (www.gentilisalerenter,it), or quaddo matto club (http://www.quaddomatto.it), in Senigallia.

Hope this helps.
Ciao!

Thank you very much for posting all this useful information.

We need to find interesting things for the 20-25 year old set (3 sons plus girlfriends). Where is the best place for them to go jet skiing on the southern Le Marche coast? Does anyone know where they can rent scooters near Pedaso? Thanks!

We have two teenagers, and came across this waterpark by chance - there are mainly Italians there - but it is a fantastic day out - your kids will love it.

web site is www.parcoeldorado.com but also look on parksmania.it for 3 other parks for kids.

the park is not easy to find, it is just on the outside of the small town of Apiro. If you are coming from the direction of Cingoli (you will go past a fantastic resevoir) - at the T junction to the left is the town of Apiro, but turn right and then immediately right again - watch out for the sign at the bottom of the hill and then follow the road up - it looks like it is going nowhere - but persist and at the very top of the hill you will find the car park for the water park. The views are absolutely fantastic - the water park opens all day from around 10.00, but closes for the obligatory siesta at around 1.00 (you don't have to leave) - there is a bar and a restaurant - or you can take a picnic. There is also a water park entertainer ! as well.

Caroline
