You don't need any special kind of plaster - you can get paints (with a matt finish exactly like emulsion paint) which are designed for shower walls, and around baths etc.
Good luck!

Have you used this kanea? What do you put it on with (brush, roller, plastering float)? Is it easy to apply?

Is the price you mention £70 per 4.5sq m applied, or just the material? Since you quote sterling, did you buy this in the UK or Italy?

Our architects use it and are putting it in our bathrooms as we are not big fans of tiles either. I don't know how much it costs but means you can definitely get it in Italy.
I have heard of waterproof plaster for showers and bathrooms which can be coloured. Has anyone used this kind of thing for I am not all that keen on tiles - rather like public loos as costs are an important part of our budget. Is waterproof plaster cheaper??? Janetta
Its called polished plaster, comes in all colours, a smooth or rough finish about £70.00 for 4.5sqt mtrs.
