Somebody else was asking this question a week or so ago.

I can't understand how, while I cannot get into to a whole raft of local shops without tripping over an enormous selection of outdoor furniture, other folk seem to have the opposite problem!!

Perhaps you can locate a branch of GranCasa, or Mercatone Uno, or Obi somewhere local - they have lots of garden furniture, but more importantly they will almost certainly be located in a place where there are other useful shops of all types. If you have a large Coop superstore, they too are full of this stuff.

Hope you find something for sitting on and sipping from on your terrace!

Are you crazy? it is far to early to buy garden furniture! That is more or less what I was told last week, at every shop I tried. I ended up at IKEA which has got loads, but maybe a bit far for you.

I always amazes me how some people can wander though life, as a young girl can wander though a summer field. Just picking a fragrant rose here or a bright red poppy there.
While the rest of us have to struggle though the traffic all day to end up at IKEA. There is no justice :( :D

Semeraro have just opened up near us in Sardinia. They're like an up market Ikea.We bought a solid teak 6 seater drop-leaf table 4 chairs with all cushions for £415.Very good finish.I know they have stores on the mainland try www.semeraro.it

Mark - I am in constant danger of breaking an ankle on an errant table leg, or being crushed to death by chairs stacked fifty high!! Life can be very hazardous in the "outside furniture season".
I do appreciate your point about it being "out of season" - in my close to sea level position the shops have filled with this stuff in the last fortnight - but the date at which it is deemed appropriate to buy garden furniture almost certainly depends on the altitude - and bits of Italy are absurdly close to the snow line!
Have you ever attempted to buy a woodburning stove in July?? - can't be done :) :)

Wow! You really can hit where it hurts. This is exactly what I want to do...well...maybe in June. I had the feeling it was going to be a problem, but I did not want to leave it till I needed it.

I put the question out a couple of weeks ago. We are in Falerone and I had three good source of info come through.
Oasi - just outside Fermo
City Per - in Piederippa
Emmezeta - on the Barracola industrial estate in Ancona
or online from - www.unopiu.it

Please let me know if you have any success as I am back over in three weeks and this is one of the tasks on my to do list.

Also if anyone knows a good source for the wind up sunshades that you see in bars I would be interested.

The other source I have found useful for furniture and the like is good old ebay! covering Italy of course.

Happy shopping!

You could try Area Legno in Citta' S.Angelo (PE) in Abruzzo. They normally have a large selection of wooden outdoor furniture but I haven't been there this year so I can't tell what is on show now. Their website is pretty good and has an English option www.arealegno.it

It may be a little too far south for you but probably nearer than Ikea Rome.

Steve

There are offers on outside furniture in City Per in Piediripa at the moment, running through to the 4th. May. :)

Thanks everyone for your advice, it will be very helpful.

even nearer to you is a Bricomax in Grottazalina - on the Fermo road and they have lots of garden furniture.

In the little village of Casali 9km.SW of Fermo you will find CaseStile which has a big selection of garden furniture and other things for the house.

we have christened emmezeta Dantes inferno or an episode from Kafka... just take your time, be prepared to walk miles, and have lots of patience - you order from oneplace, pay at another and have to exit to another to collect... be warned.
