Hi,
We're not a million miles away from you in either Italy or the UK. We have an apartment in San Nicola Arcella in Northern Calabria and live in Bedfordshire in the UK. We try and get over as often as possible, the last time was in March. Will be going again in late June. We hope you enjoy the area in which you have bought.

This forum is awaiting - with baited breath! - the return of a member currently holidaying in her family "home town" of Naples, who will be delighted to encounter some new Campanians! I'm further North in Italy, but slightly wish I was further South!!
Where in Naples?

Hi there, I live in Lago do Patria. I find quite a few of the local Italians speak english since there is a very large American community here.
Ciao,dan

[QUOTE=Stephi][COLOR="Purple"]Hi all
It's an exciting time for husband and I as we are in the process of buying a house near Scario at the Southern end of Campania. We have been living near Naples for a while, but are in our final weeks here before returning to Aylesbury, Bucks. We are delighted to be keeping our links with Italy. Currently I am trying to brush up on the lingo as we realise that we have chosen to buy in an area where very little english is spoken. I would love to know of any other Brits who have bought in this beautiful area.
Regards

Campania? Did someone say Campania? I wonder who is waiting - with baited breath - the return of who from holiday? :D
More importantly.. even though she has actually returned yesterday from Napoli.. will she be allowed to return to Forum? Lets wait and see eh? I wouldn't hold your breath too long though Lax.. heavy breathing is way off topic!
:) :)

Hi Darren
Good to hear from you. We will be very close to Policastro, as we are buying in Torre Orsaia. How good is your Italian then? I have the GCSE under my belt to date, but will attend a 3 week course in downtown Naples (4 hours a day) as of next week. Have you encountered many problems? We are looking forward to spending the month of August in the area. Perhaps we'll bump into you one day.
Ciao for now
Stephi

Hi Lee and Anna
Thanks for the welcome. You are in a lovely area too. We could have happily bought there instead.

I have a house in Calabria, 20 km south of Rossano and 60 km north of Crorone andhave tried to track down info on decent walking in the area. I have done some but get confused as to what is private, safe etc. Do they have walking clubs, footpaths, books, maps?? I have drawn a blank up till now.
Carolyn
Welcome to you both. I'm sure you'll find a lot of useful advice & help through the forum.
...I'm afraid we're closer to you in Buckinghamshire than we are in Italy (N Tuscany), so won't be able to help much on local advice :(
