3672 Le Marche--A Load of Old Cobblers!

Le Marche has to be every womans dream place even if they are not into stunning scenery and artistic treasures!!!
The area around Cassette d'Ete has been the heart of Italy's shoe making industry for nearly a century.
In the Marche Region, there are over 2,700 shoe making factories which employ nearly 30,000 workers.
One of the world's most exclusive and famous shoes is produced here by Diego Della Valle, also owner of Fiorentina Football Club------if he is in need of some running shoes in the near future, then he will be spoiled for choice!
The name Tods doesn't sound Italian and infact was taken at random from an American telephone directory!!!
The famous "gommino" has made his brand one of the most sought after by people worldwide and along with his other 2 main brands, Hogan and Fay have become fashon icons.
So elegant, so stylish, so comfortable, so chic and so bloody expensive-----it's what every woman wants-------oh and of course we need to have the matching bag too!!!!
To get some bargains head down to the outlet in Cassette d'ete.
Those boots were made for walking---------!

Can you order me a pair of the red ones in the first photo please?

I always thought Manolo Blahblahs were great, but these will fit the shape of my feet perfectly, just as they are! :D

By the look of them Anastasia, you will never be down at heel!!!!:D

Thanks Dreamy........can you buy form the factories? If so, is there a list of them, or does one cruise Diego Della Valle & 'prowl'?

Of course you can.
The Tod's "outlet" is Sant'Elpidio a Mare - Casette d'Ete near the factory.
It is a real big and beautiful shop, not just a factory extention.
normally you cannot buy there the last season goods, but sometimes you can find even the new one.
It is a sort of punishment for me, because all my friends from other regions coming to meet me, want to visit TOD'S

p.s. outlet is an english word used in italy to define the "factory shop", is it used in England ?

I look for stock shops when in Italy, but am glad that outlet will be understood too! In the UK, these stores are commonly referred to as "retail outlets" or "designer outlets". Factory shop will also work.

Thanks for your advice ;)

Hi Tuscan,
You can get last seasons items at a good deal less and also the new season models with a discount.
Well worth a trip.
I just stocked up for this Summer and saw a pair of sandals which I paid full price for in the shops here last Summer at 50% less!!!
Who cares this year or last year----Tods are Tods!!!
They also do some good items in jackets etc with Fay at a good deal less.
:D

My query is a little more mundane; I'm a shoes size 48, so any store that may have decent shoes is worth a trip.....as for a while street of them......be still by beating heart!

D (Definitely not K!)

In fact, the Chienti Valley is an important factory outlet hub. You will find a selection of shoe manufacturers in Montegranaro and if you head west along the SS77 to Tolentino, you'll find the outlets for Nazzareno Gabrielli as well as Poltrona Frau, two important marchigiana brands.

The following link contains a comprehensive listing of outlets throughout the Marche.

Thanks for all the really useful information.
Great website - really helpful for visitors to the area.

Does anyone know which of the factory shops sells Oliver Sweeney shoes - they are made somewhere in le Marche?
