Hi everyone I posted a query before introducing myself. I'm Silvana yes the name is italian but I was born and somewhat bred in Yorkshire. My parents are Sicilian, my husband Italian. I suppose I have the benefit of understanding both cultures. We are looking at buying a property in Puglia, yes we are having problems it does not make a difference if you are English or italian if you are going to have a problem you will! Hope to meet new friends all lovers of all things italian:D

Hi Silvana and welcome to the forum. I think I replied to your thread about having problems buying in Puglia. Whereabouts in Puglia are you buying? - we live here in Martina Franca with our two daughters & really love it - been here a couple of years now. Unfortunately I don`t have access to the computer very often as we`ve moved house & we`re still waiting for our phone line! Hope your problems resolve themselves.

Silvana, We had problems too but maybe not as complicated as yours, hope your making progress. It is worth it in the end! :D

thanks for replying I sometimes feel like an inbetweeny having tasted the best of boith cultures it is sometimes hard for people to accept you in either culture. Believe me I tell it how it is! I am very happy to hear that both of you live near martina franca I visited the town many times and noce and locorotondo they have fantastic markets! We will be flying out next week hopefully to sort out this villa we wish to buy - believe me problemsarise regardless! Hope you all keep in touch
