3691 My daughter's school trip.

Just picked up my daughter from her first school trip.

This morning we arrived as requested to drop the children off to go on their school trip from sunny Fano to the woods in Ancona. Very nice.

The children seemed have all their family with them to wave them off. Photo's being taken. Parents brought trays of cakes for the very very long journey (max 30hr). I have to say this morning my husband and I were very bemused by the experience, the parents seemed to be waving them off for the week not just the day. Mothers were crying as were grandparents. One parent (who my husband and I think might be a pimp as he's always on the ear piece of his phone booking something or other and sepaking in hushed tones) even spared his son nearly 45 minutes without taking a booking to kiss and wave him goodbye. Yes it take 45 mintues.

I have come away this morning feeling that perhaps I am more of an English parent than I thought and still a little confused....

Dont worry Kirstin.. Italian parents are just as relieved to get rid of the kids for a day as you are! :D

Kirstin you really made me laugh. I can just immagine the scenario!!!
"Tesorino faccia il bravino per la mammina"!!!
Tesorino "Si mammina" 10.000 bacini anche al babbo, alla nonna, allo zio, al cane, al gatto xxxxxxx
10 seconds after coach departs----total casino a bordo!!!! lol x:D
Poor teachers!!!!

When we collected them at 8pm (should have been 7) the teachers looked absolutely exhausted.

Unfortunately for me, in my role as teacher in another school I have to do the same thing. (Yes i am quacking in my boots).
